| | Really Really old abadoned house on hwy 60, WI < on 7/13/2008 12:38 AM >
| | | I'm posting this to see if anyone remembers this place, whether its still there, and whether or not anyone got any pictures of it. There was/is a house along Hwy 60 in Wisconsin between Sauk City and Spring Green, and if I recall correctly it was kind of near that house where in the 30's or 40's there was a robbery and 2 people were murdered. (The murder house is not the abandoned one I'm talking about, just a landmark). Anyway, about 10-12 years ago we were driving along that road and I caught a quick glimpse of an extremely decrepit house a few feet off the road, though it was engulfed in trees, so that you could barely see it. All I caught was a glimpse of what remained of the front steps and door. This was when I was around 10 and way before I was into UE (though I was interested) and my grandfather was with us, so needless to say we didn't stop. My mom also remembers this place likely being abandoned in the late 50's so its been like that quite a while. I'm pretty sure the house is on the right side if you are heading towards Spring Green. I'm so curious about this place; anyone know anything? And I'd really love to see pictures!

| | | That's my neck of the woods and I can think of several that match that description... did you end up following up with pictures and ID the house? I'd be interested in the location to figure out which murders you're using as a "landmark"... thanks!

| | | Unfortunately, that was the last time we drove out that way, so I never got any pictures. I don't know a lot about the murders, just that some robbers came by and killed the people living there, I think one was killed in the barn and the other in the house. Not helpful, I know, but that's all I remember my grandfather saying about it.

| | | Dayamn! That's in my neck of the woods too!!! I've been meaning to drive out to Spring Green, but laziness has prevented me from doing it. There used to be a couple cool abandoned places near Baraboo, too. I even got some non-digital pictures several years ago. Sadly, those places have since been torn down.

| | | Some dumbass bent the bars keeping you out of the cooling pit at the shot tower in Spring Green like 20 years ago. It was still like that like 6 years ago. wierd.
