| | | I like the exterior building. The car shot, the mask used to brighten the car is a little obvious, could use some more work, but nice concept and execution (other than that.) c. [last edit 6/29/2008 4:20 AM by silver halide - edited 2 times]

it's one of the worst buildings on the inside there some others on campus that have MUCH prettier interiors. all of these photos are crooked and have awkward point of references, you should spend more time composition and looking through the view finder before pushing the shutter, it's the little things like that that make a picture

This one has the most promise. I would bump the contrast just a little and apply a lens correction to bring the tilt down a little towards the viewer.

to add to what i said before, i've told you this before and i'll keep saying it you need to keep your aperture small, at least f/11, ideally 16 or 22 unless you are going for a specific DOF in a photo. there is no reason why a picture like the first one shouldn't be shot at at least f/11-16 if you had a tripod with you

| | | been on that campus but haven't been in that soccer field vicinity building. thanks for saving me a curious trip back jeff. the rest of the place sure doesn't warrant a second trip, lol. i have to agree with jeff on these pics. not doing too much for me, feel like i'm looking at pictures that someone took quickly with a point and shoot...except for the photoshop'd car one which just doesn't fit in the herd b/c it looks like it belongs in a car advertisement. i second jeffs advice...viewfinder, composition...etc, etc.

| | | A - This is my fav. B - Meh. C - Awesome. wtf is all that wire fence for? And why does it have big slits cut in it? Perhaps boosting the contrast in Photoshop will help this pic. Or maybe try it in b&w? D - I can't figure out what it has to do with UE, but that's a sweet photo. I honestly thought for a moment that there was a random car ad mixed in with your post. E - I like the DoF. Play with the levels in Photoshop. F - A bit cliche, but still very cool! What camera & lens are you shooting with?

I was shooting these with a mamiya 645 AFDII and all but one was shot with a 45mm f2.8 and then an 80mmf2.8, I shoot more automotive than ue stuff now so I figured I'd throw one in there to see what people thought of it. I'll mess with these in photoshop some and repost them and see what you guys think. and I know what your saying jeff about taking my time the thing is I love seeing the places more than taking the pictures so I always rush so I can go poking around to see what I can find and see. But I'll see what last weekend came up with I really worked on slowing way down. [last edit 7/1/2008 1:08 PM by justpunchit314 - edited 1 times]

| | | Here's my Re edits I changed the levels on the "externals" cabinet and flipped it to B&W.
Same thing with the chair shot, upped the contrast a tad more, but photo shop elements wont let you do lens correction so I couldn't change that at work. Maybe when I get home.
With the exterior shot I tried to convert it to black and white and I just didnt really like how it looked, so I upped the contrast and put a little green in it, any better?
And for the last one I cropped it a little to bring the chair to your attention more promptly. Also touched the levels some.
A few of these are problems with composition so this is the best I can do, well for the most part with these. [last edit 7/1/2008 3:08 PM by justpunchit314 - edited 1 times]

Great advice, in my opinion. I love the lines/geometry in Shot E, as well.

the problem with these photos are with the way they are taken, no amount of post can fix them to look natural. post can fix alot of things but if you take a photo that is composed as sloppy as most of these it's not possible to fix it 100%
