Eventually I'd like to go back and actually explore some of the many sites. I did find an old school house that I was able to poke around in very easily though. click to view click to view The old school house as seen from 69 that runs between Pittsburg and Ft. Scott. (I could be wrong and this could be an old church but seemed more like a one room school house). click to view There's a burned out section that might have been a door at one time. click to view Inside the structure is in pretty good shape, it seemed like no one has ever ventured in here. click to view The old piano in the corner has seen some better days. click to view click to view Out the door facing the highway. click to view a swallow kept buzzing me while I poked around and I found her nice little nest on the rooms only lighting fixture. click to view Just down the road is a very large and odd building. This building sits right off the current highway and was formally on the old one. This could have been a water or electric type of building. click to view Here's the front door, this gives no clue to what the building might have been at one time. I'll have more from Ft. I wasn't able to poke around enough the first time but there was an old pew outside that was covered up by weeds and there was an oven in one of the little rooms near the front.
