They key is to work in the private sector. Public sector would inspire me to shoot myself in the head. Always something new, though, when you work for the dark side.

That's my job big benefit: right-of-entry laws (when at work, the crime of trespassing does not exist for me) cool places I've been: several large storm drains in Oakland, a disused factory/warehouse in Berkeley, and San Quentin State Prison (including inside death row for a few minutes)

Yeah, thats twice ive got to go on secure access elevators and check out secret floors cause of my classes. the other one was in a library, and it had the huge really long hallway with fire protection stuff in it, but i was more excited about being in a secret room then the fire stuff. haha

| | | I would think that any job that allowed you to telecommute or required you to travel(regional sales, etc,)would be best. I think also having a job where you can do online research frequently is the second best scenario. If you can't find your next spot, then all of your spare time would be wasted doing that.I'm nat in regional sales or anything, but it seems like companies have a hard time filling the positions due to all of the traveling involved. imagine being able to cover half of your state prowling for abandonments while driving to and from a sale. Not to mention all of the trade shows possibly out of state? Then you're landing free airfare and room and board while you sneak off to explore! Most all areas of goods or service related industries have regional sales positions, some let you travel more than others, or not at all, it depends on your area and what you sell. Of course, you actually have to sell too! I would probably suck at a sales job because I don't like people. WOW, this turned out to be a real coffee-fueled sermon!Mah bad. OTHER OPTIONS: 1. Drifter 2. Carnie 3. Wino 4. perpetual Camper 5. Ne'er Do Well 6. Hit Man 7. Con Man (see: salesman) 8. Professional Wrestler 9. Ninja 10. Troll(good bridge access) 11. Mascot 12. Animal Control 13. Cheer Squad Leader 14. Rave DJ 15. Traveling thespian 16. Gypsy(more lifestyle than career) 17. Musician 18. CIA 19. FBI 20. NSA 21. Surfer(limited to coastal areas) 22. Anything Credible That You Can Spin Into a Reason That You Were Poking Around That Abandoned Building!!!

| | | This doesn't work for abandonments, but for having almost unlimited access to an active site, being a janitor is the way to go. It's an easy job, I've never seen an area that a janitor isn't allowed to access, and you can go act like a janitor (using your uniform and tools) at other sites and no one will be suspicious of you.

Work in large geographic area, refineries, museums, large old hotels, warehouses, colleges (lots of girls), underground tunnels, vaults, homes, prisons, docks, aircraft carrier, military bases, banks, hospitals, wind farms. All within the last few years, and all with outstanding exploration yield, all while being paid, all with permission, all with no degree, just on the job training and a good eye for UE opportunities.

| | | My dream job would be to work at NASA and have access to all the cool things I hear about/can't talk about. But then I'd likely get fired as I'd post everything up on UER for everyone to gawk at. Perhaps it's best I not become an engineer after all.... Seriously I think the best UE related job would be being a museum curator. They always have the keys to every part of the building you really want to see, but is never opened. *cue spooky music*

| | | One of my previous lives saw me working as a Cell Site Technician for a major cellular service provider here. It gave me unrestricted access to many buildings and tower sites. I had unrestricted access to several hundred buildings and site locations in ontario on a 24 hour basis. It was great: work out of home, wireless internet and all the cellphones I could handle. Plus the money was great. I know this takes some of the infiltration aspects out of the equation, however you can really get good ideas for other later adventures. It was still extremely interesting, and: This meant downtown toronto rooftops at night, basements, abandoned buildings, non-abandoned buildings, etc. They put these sites everywhere! Wandering alone through toronto molson brewery at night was was one of the more interesting experiences... wandered for hours and never saw a single employee. Some of the metal lattice catwalks in the fermentation room were 6 or 7 stories up and when you look down through your feet, you see all the way to the bottom. Almost lost my hat into one of the brew kettles, tho... lol There was also the abandoned movie theater, inside the toronto 'path', sheraton hotel dt, roach infested tunnels and the medical center site with all the crack pipes lying around... Those were some good times! anyways... you get the idea...
