How are the exposures on these two pictures? Which one is better? I am trying to dial in my exposure comp on my D70 and tune in my monitor.

the exposure of the suitcase and dresser is perfect in the first shot, but the whites are a little clipped.

The first one to me looks too light and the second just a bit too dark. If I took them and had to pick one to post it would have been the second. Maybe that is why people think my pics suck. Argh!!!!! sorry I don't think I will ever get it.

Yeh to me it's a little too bright.. Would be a great chance to learn HDR!

try not to forget in winter darker shots look better because your eyes are adjusted to less light and in summer lighter shots look better.. look at this thread again in 6 months and rethink your answer..
