Quartier abandonné

I wanted to try something a bit different and finally found a good subject. All the villas in this abandoned suburb had to be expropriated because of the fact that they were built too close to an airport. The fact that these houses were built quite recently means we are probably talking about some social drama here. I wanted to make this kind of a photojournalistic document without putting too much of a personal touch in it. It had just snowed and the sun was shining really hard.

some pretty heavy vignetting on the first few, but with that amount of negative space i guess it doesn't bother me. i like the last few.

Hey yeah you, fat ass. Not interested.

interesting set, the vignetting actually doesn't bother me, but i'd definitely try and do something about the whites; they're way overexposed.

Thanks guys and girls,
@ YouOnlyLiveOnce; you're absolutely right and I guess I already knew that when I took the shots, to keep the houses exposed enough, I kind of had to overexpose the road and the sky, I think some HDR wouldn’t have killed me with this series.
@ Martino; point made, but don't worry, it was just a one of a kind experiment for a very different location, I never intended this kind of compo's to become my trademark or something like that. I'll get back to shooting with a personal touch now

maybe try isolating the sky and snow covered ground you want to make darker with the quick selection tool in photoshop, then create an "brightness/contrast" adjustment layer and make it a little darker.

I like the effect. My only problem is the few where the trees block the building, most notably in 2 and 7.

Thanks, @ YouOnlyLiveOnce; I'll try do do that, just hope I have enough 'info' in the overexposed parts.
