How do you get the nice little box around a picture? All of my pictures seem to turn out too big or not show up at all.

Thanks!

Could you link to a post that uses this?

I make love the same way I resolve arguments. With my fists.

I'm talking about the pictures that have a thumbnail, and when you bring your arrow over it, it expands to a larger version of a picture.

Do you have to upload it on the boards? I've been using photobucket, but I don't know.

After you click "attach an image" you need to surround the file name with:
[ gallery ]
[ / gallery ]

without the spaces between everything (I had to do that so you would be able to see it).
PS: it shows you at the bottom of the reply screen.

Ah... I see it...

Uhm, I have another problem. How could I reduce an image's size without making it the size of a postage stamp?

Thanks a lot! While I'm not a photography junkie and unwilling to fork out the money for photoshop, I can always try it on my friend's computer. In the meantime, I'll try irfanview. Many thanks!!!

assuming windows usage here. winxp has a powertoy for this that integrates right into the r-click context menu. handy for on the fly resizing.

This Program works really well the only problem is even the small option doesn't make the file small enough.
you have to use the "handheld PC" option.

Thanks it makes resizing much easier.

Irfanview still makes things small.
Best suggestion, open a photobucket account, it's free. You upload your images and when you post them, they are the same size as what you upload them to photobucket with. So, no smaller than a fingernail images to worry about.

Regarding photobucket, a lot of the picture sites let you post the pics by putting the http address in the img brackets. I use Smug mug because they'll also let you pick the size you want to display in forums.

Ya there is really no reason in paying when you can go somewhere else for free (photobucket, flickr).

thumbnails are so bad.
when i open a thread and the pictures are thumbnails i don't even bother.
if you put them on photobucket it gives you the code right there.
why would you want to post them as thumbnails?
add your own "little boxes" called borders.

Take whatever you want. Leave anything but FIRE!
