I'm planning a trip to Texas soon and I ran across a site detailing multiple abandoned missile silo sites outside of Dallas somewhere. I would love to take pics does anybody have any info on these sites? Peace!!!

It's a legit web site, though the operator of it (Gary Baker) is a little strange & some of his location info is off a little.

Anyway, yeah, the sites are there, in the vicinity around Dyess AFB. They were ATLAS-F sites, removed from service around 1965.

Here's the absolute best catalog of all deactivated US strategic missile sites -- their exact locations & relatively current status:

http://w3.uwyo.edu/~jimkirk/atlas.html

Keep in mind that Texas also had Nike batteries, & to really be thorough, there is a cool Sprint/Spartan missile mock-up/training site still remaining on Fort Bliss.

Standard disclaimer: All the old Atlas sites are private property, Texas law gives a lot of leeway to property owners dealing with trespassers, and the missile site interiors are very treacherous...
