| | | ...and my second thought was "that must hurt like a bitch". In high school I worked at a gun club (trap/skeet), and occasionally you'd catch the odd pellet bouncing off of a pigeon. Seldom broke the skin (never for me, but I've seen it), but stung for a sec. I can't imagine about a zillion times that volume of anything feeling too wonderful. Especially when it's not ricocheting off of something. And yeah, there's that whole added salt and broken skin dimension.

| | | http://www.theboxo...com/docs/bot33.htm They still sting like a bitch, but the above link proves them not to be fatal. People are probably more likely to defend their property with rubber shells or stingers (if using non-lethal rounds)
The only thing I worry about with rocksalt shells is that some people use them in booby traps when securing their property. This means very close range, and it could be hitting you anywhere.

Booby traps are completely illegal. Lawsuit maximus and worth a trespass charge. Beware though as meth cookers have assets that may be impossible to collect They also tend to use real shotgun shells.

They may be illegal but that doesn't make them any less of a threat... if I am in a sketchy place, I'll always stand back from the door when I open it. Not only booby traps wait on the other side of doors.

Just doors? You need to be more paranoid. I like the double razor blade trick; nothing like that tell tale blood stain to know when you've had guests...

| | | You're wrong Pappy. In WI you have to let them do it and call the cops, who will get there 2 hours after they leave. Then be luck on your side to catch them. You want a conviction? HA! Then try getting your stuff back. Although I personally believe that you should be able to use any force necessary to keep your property.

Not in PA. We have expanded property protection rights similar to those in TX.

| | | I never dreamt of that shit out east. Usually the more East you go, the more stupid the laws get. Go West and they don't put up with that shit. Crossing a fence is BAD news. Around here nobody gives a shit. That's cool. People need to be more empowered to defend what's theirs. Some rocksalt in the ass usually cures that shit right up. New York trooper once told me that if someone is in my garage/shed, burglary, anything like that... when I shoot them and they make it outside, drag them back into the house. Simplifies the paperwork, especially if you manage to off them.

Not really. Blood trails, blood splatter, flesh fragments will show your statement to be inconsistent. Tampering with evidence is a felony and it will allow a sharp investigator/interrogator to put their foot in the door so to speak.

Yeah, but if the cop doesn't want to f*ck you it makes everyone's lives easier. There was an elderly woman somewhat local who was being tormented by some bikers... one day she opened the front door and shot one with a shotgun. Dragged him off the porch and into the house, then called the police. Cops saw the yard all torn up, the smear entering the house, and knew exactly what happened: They attacked her in her home and she defended herself. No charges were ever filed.
