| | Public Drainers Board (PDB) < on 5/3/2008 7:44 PM >
| | | Hey All, I know some people were wondering where the drainers board went (myself included). It turns out it has been made into a more selective private board. So anyway, I talked with AV and he said it was fine to create a Public Drainers Board in addition to the private one. So if you want to access the PDB and post or just view, it's open to anyone Just go here: http://www.uer.ca/...howallpb.asp?fid=1 And then find the Public Drainers Board and click on join. I'm moderating it, so let me just say: shitty photo quality, poorly angled photos, or lack of photos and just stories, anything like that, is fine with me. No need to impress anyone, lets just have fun and enjoy the wicked sport of draining. Lets get some neat shots and stories up! And spread the word: The PDB is online and open to anyone. -S [last edit 5/3/2008 7:52 PM by Steam - edited 1 times]

There's really no need for two boards. If want to post shots and stories then you're more than welcome to join the regular drainers forum and remain a member. Hell, there are lots of people there already who have never even set foot inside a drain, but yet they still contribute in some way or another. The only people who got the boot recently were those who had either never posted or hadn't done so in a really long time. I'm guessing you probably fell into one of those categories. I think the board is currently set to private in order to prevent the usual bullshit that takes place on the rest of this site. If anyone's interested in draining and have something to say or show then PM stoop_master then I'm sure he won't hesitate to add you.

Non-contributors were booted for well, contributing nothing. The drainers board is the most on-topic and friendly board I've seen on uer - anyone willing to post and be part is welcome. So you've created a board for the non-contributors to all hangout and not contribute. Sweet!

| | | Nope, I did contribute. Just only once every few months. I still got booted. The purpose of this board will just be a more chill experience, no "booting" of people. No calling people lurkers etc... Just draining.

| | | You do realize there is a limit to the amount of members that can be added to a private forum, yes? It is necessary when a private board exceeds its maximum occupancy to remove lurkers if you intend on allowing new members to join.
Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you. |

| | | I suppose a public board would eliminate this problem then.

| | | So really, you've created a wussy crybaby board because you're not contributing to the regular thread and got the boot because you were just hanging about and drinking everyone else's beer. This sounds like a high-school click to me.

In all fairness to the moderator, he did post a list of people to be removed, and asked them to comment if removal wasn't appropriate. It certainly didn't come across as elitist and snobby as it sounds out here in the harsh wilderness of the public boards.

I don't drain a lot but I did enjoy looking at some of the classic sewers in London, and other European cities especially as large industrial complexes fascinate me. That's not lurking, but I can understand trying to limit numbers as your only allowed 50 members on a private board. Be nice if that number was raised for some of the most popular forums such as this one. I really see no point to join a second "public" drainer forum that's a watered down version. *snicker* Don't be sore losers... jeeeeesze. I'll let you join my Secret Squirrel forum... In all fairness I was kicked off the real drainer forum, and I'm not turning it into a UER political moment... ain't that big a deal... jeeeesze!
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

Then you got false positived, pm stoop_master and ask to let you back in. No need to go kneejerk and make another board for it. The drain board is chilled, I can't even remember the meagerest of flaming on there.

The drainboard was the only thing I checked when I was last a member on UER. Cheers, Doug.

| | | Having taken a look, id ask, why dont you just post the stuff you put on your new board on the old board. Any content is good content... And more MSP contributors would even out the pesky Pommy contingency

| | | Hey, Again, just to answer questions: 1) I would love to post to the old/regular/whatever drainers Board, However I can't. 2) I PMed stoop asking to get back in, He said that I hadn't contributed and decided to not let me back in (fair, his choice) 3) "Wussy, complaining, whatever": I'm just trying to post my stuff somewhere, you don't want to see my board, fine ignore it. 4) "Well then why didn't you contribute more if you love draining so much?" I did contribute... when I had a computer. For the past few months I was traveling in australia and didn't have time to read the board much- This is why I didn't know that members were being removed. Now I'm back. 5) Anything else: For goodness sake just PM me if you have a real question. -S Edit: Still, after I get back from australia and asked where the board went, the first comment I read is this: "If you can't even pay enough attention while lurking to know that that was the name of exactly one thread, you don't belong. Sorry." So it looks like I "don't belong" on the drainers forum simply because I called it the "Drain P0rn" forum. Go figure. [last edit 5/6/2008 1:24 AM by Steam - edited 1 times]

| | | That really sucks that the drainer's board went private. I really enjoyed that one. I am not a drainer and did not comment hardly ever because I prefer not to become a know it all on things outside my area of "expertise". Still, there was great photography there that I will surely miss.
