|  | | | Well before I begin I want to give you guys a little back story. I live in the region of Vancouver, which means it rains a whole fucking lot. Well today was a bit cloudy but I decided to look in this outfall gate near my house. More of a 10 min scout trip then going draining. So I got there, it was overgrown with thorns. Got some funny looks when I used hedge clippers to get rid of them (It was in a ditch). When I was about to go in I noticed a funky smell. You know that smell near water treatment plants? Yeah that smell except faint. So I noted there was a bit of oil buildup near a stone and climbed out. Which brings me to my question: What smells are considered "normal" when draining (storm tunnels)?

| | | | Things "rank and gross in nature," to quote Hamlet, tend to fester in pipes/drains that are at least partially underground; I've not yet been to one such apparatus that didn't smell absolutely horrid or at the very least nostril-twitchingly curious. If you noted the smell was similar to the water treatment plant, it's probably similar chemicals to what are used to clean and filter sewage water and make it usable again. Are these pipes part of or connected to the sewer/sewage system in any way? If they are, then I'm surprised you only got a FAINT smell.
Oh, I'm sick of doing Japanese things. In jail they made us be in this dumb Kabuki play about the Forty Seven Ronin, and I wanted to be Oshi, but they made me Ori! |
