^BAHAHAAHHAHAHAHA

anyways im bored so i figure its my civic duty to tell you what i think about these pics even though my experience is somewhat limites.

here goes:

1. it kind of bothers me how the prison is off centered. then again im anal about things like that. the colors and everything are great but i think the off centered subject kinda hurts the pic. also, the railroad tracks are a bit distracting.

2. same as number one as far as critiques go. the angle is a little boring, however the colors again are awesome.

3. i really like this pic. no offense, but the people look out of place though. i mean this place is obviously abandoned so having clean, modernly dressed people kinda throws me off. also youre a terrible friend for erasing the guy on the left.

4. i really like this one too, great picture. i love how you combined the sink and the tub into one subject almost.

5. this one is great too, i like how all the lines are straight and parallel. my only comment is maybe crop out a little bit on the left side in order to center the door frame.

6. personally i think this is the weakest of the set, my eyes are kinda struggling to find something to focus on, whereas in your other pics the eyes are immediately drawn to something.

7. best shot of the set imo. in some cases this angle would be boring, however here i think its ballin. i like how you got the top walkway that leads to the stairs. awesome pic.

8. maybe rotate this a tad counterclockwise. like in number 6, im struggling to find a definitive focal point. and it might just be the place sagging, but it seems like a bit of barrel distortion going on.

9. this goes along with the stuff i said about #3. its kind of odd having someone dressed the way this guy is sitting in an abandoned prison cell. plus sad prison cell shots really are overdone imo.

10. another really good pic, i love how you got the peeling paint/whatever that shit is on the walls. it just screams "breathe me."

11. see number 9

12. jesus christ i just noticed how many pics you posted. i vote for cropping the right a bit more and maybe capturing the molding running along the floor by the cell on the left side of the frame (see how its cut off?)

13. cool pic, nice focus, subject is a bit boring imo.

14. really like this one too. the peely paint is titties and the lines are nice and straight.

15. wish you took a step to the right so the hall was centered. again its my anal side speaking here.

16. i like this one too. its cool how you got the bars on the top left in the frame too. it makes me wonder if theyre keeping a tally on whose turn it is to drop the soap.

17. great pic. everything is well placed, even, and it just reeks of a well organized picture.

18. see 17

19. see 17, looks a bit underexposed though.

20. YES! the symmetry makes me want to touch my no no spot, id just crop out some of the dead area on the bottom.

21. good pic and nice lighting. i think the rule of thirds would have helped you make a better picture however.

22. lines look a bit funky, and i wish you captured the top of the door frame.

23. good symmetry on this one. maybe crop a bit on the right to even out the pic.

24. the colors are nice, but it looks a bit snap shotty to me.

sorry for the deterioration of my comments, i got a bit tired towards the end. good location and a good set in general. my final thing is they look a bit contrasty and over saturated but i think that adds to the location in a way. keep up the good work!

time for a nap

York County Prison, as in York County, Pennsylvania?

I live fairly close to York, in fact I'll be there this weekend.
So if so I'd want to check it out fershure.

I had to scrape, pick and claw a few off this weekend, but they weren't F/RoX stickers.

edit: you should probably do some vertical and horiztonal adjustments on the first picture.

I haven't noticed self-referencing urbex stickers yet. Up until recently I had only seen "UE" graffiti ("WE EXPLORE" is painted in far too many locations in my area). Then stupidity reached a high note when I saw a flyer promoting a UE website inside of an abandonment, which seems to go against all basic common sense, if you ask me.

what happened to keeping a relatively low profile?

Anyways, don_corleyone, these shots are great, and your photography and photoshop skills continue to impress.

EDIT: the website URL in the picture was removed. As if the crest isn't a dead give-away.

umm...first off nobody asked you....second, that flyer was put there for a video, not for 'promoting a UE website'...

I am thinking the sitting alone, looking sad in a cell shots are a bit overdone. With prison overcrowding and all that I think that is a weird choice to make. I think we need at least two to a cell. Have someone laying on the top bunk or something. Wear matching clothes. I also think this thread could use some dry, anal, man on man love or simulated dry, anal, man on man love.

I am quoting myself to bring this back on topic.
