Small city summit

Well the other day my friend and I went on a short trip to the roof of an apartment building. After getting access pass the front door we hit the button for the penthouse. We went up the stairwell and was confused when the stairs ended at another floor. Not the roof. We took the other stairwell and lo and behold, a door! However it was locked. Shortly after we found that out a man opened it. My buddy was frozen in shock. So I stepped up and started social engineering. Long story short we made it through, went to the elevator room as well as snapping off the following shots (Not in chronological order). Enjoy!

Edit: Just wanted to add it was taken with an iPhone and that you can see the rest of the pics here in full, uncropped res. The pass is rochelle. http://s259.photob...7/Iqueld/treeroof/

roof tops are cool, pics are ok, you really should use or get your self a digital camera, your pic's will be much better and are more visually interesting... check out the my post in the "some crapy pictures" thread in the rookie forum, if your not sure about buying a camera...

They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn!

Well at the time I had no camera as this was on the fly and unplanned. I do (well my parents do) have a camera. Nothing compared to the expensive DSLRs many of the forum members have. Just a Sony Cybershot model DSC-W80. If I ever visit it again (which I am planning to), I'll bring it.

you dont need a big, fancy, expensive camera, you can get really good results from point'n'shoot camera's. "you make the pictures, the camera only takes them!" buy your own camera, learn how to use it and its feathers, it'll be worth it. plus you dont have to fight your sister over who get the camera tonight!
you never really get the most out of something you've borrowed. You just use it cuz i have to... its kinda like when you forgot your gym shorts and you had to use the "lender pair"...

Well I'm 15 so I still live with my parents. Besides, they never use their camera and now that my brother has a cell phone for his little stop motion animations no one will notice if it goes missing into my UE bag.

Well I don't personally live in Vancouver, just the greater Vancouver District. Take a look here for some suggestions. http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=50224
Although seeing as your a full member now stop by over the location DB. I'm sure they will have something or another

Dammit, I was gone rip you apart...

But, no seriously. It seems you have the heart and desire to go out and take photos so have fun with it! Have a look at www.kenrockwell.com
He tells photography the way it is and has a bunch of helpful tutorials covering all aspects of photography. Check out his recommended books, I've used a few of those. Understanding Exposure is a great read, for example.

As for the camera, I agree with the previous poster about not needing an expensive camera. Hell you can get by with a 4mp or 5mp camera. Ok, they don't have a 3 inch screen, face detection or anti-shake, but you can get some dam fine prints out of them. Have a look at some of the flagship models from, say 2002/ 2003. The Nikon 5400 and Canon G3 spring to mind. You can probably pick them up on ebay for 50-100 bucks these days.

Well I, er-hem, "borrowed" a camera from my folks. It's got "face detection, double anti-blur technology, super steadyshot, ISO 3200", whatever those are, and finally, something I understand, full 1080 HD Still image.

I think it also purifies water.

So pictures aside, what about my writeup. Any critiques there?
