that's not actually true. I've had some fun with bump keys (ever since I saw the post on UER) and I've come across some doors that I can open with just one bump (it had 6 pins)

Yep, that's exactly how a bump key is supposed to work - all at once. Otherwise the bump key DOESN'T work. It will only open when all have been bumped at once. Or maybe you broke the lock LOL.

Pin by pin will be when you pick it yourself.

sandaili's right, you shouldn't really be opening locked doors like that! thats more like- breaking and entering. if you get caught, then your looking at a whole bunch of charges, break and enter, trespassing, possession of burgalery tools, being on private property... and keep on going!
OR you might walk into something like that sceen in "pulp fiction" in the pawn shop! which would be worse then being charged!... unless you end up in jail, that might be just as bad!

i never break into anything, i only enter if there is already a way in! except once, there was a nail holding a door closed, but im sure it was there just to stop the door from blowing open and smashing against the wall in the wind!

They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn!

Unfortunately you don't have to do all the work to make a bump key. You can buy bump key sets that are based on what you are trying to open. Again, you're looking at a heavy sentence if caught with these items. It's not worth it. And no, they are not particularly effective for several brands of locks. That's why you have locksmiths that get paid well for what they do. They don't use bumpsets because bumpsets are not reliable, can damage the lock, and are loud and annoying to use. They use professional tools and picks, because the majority of their customers are not going to have easily bumped locks.

Bumping while UEing is a good way to get you caught since it's pretty loud. One of my relatives is a locksmith in case anyone was wondering why I know things (I am not a lock picker).

No offense.. but a "bumpkey" or simlair tools can be pretty un-noticed.. its a key cut to depth 9 (or ten) and is normally seen as a key.. Not a entry tool.. and they are extremely effective against ANY pin lock.. TOOOL proved this, if the Wards match up, it works... And this whole "there not used in the field" and "bumpsets" are somewhat inncorrect too, yu can CUT a bumpkey, if yu have a blank, or an old key, there very reliable if used properly, and as for loud and annoying... i dont find such tools are(personally).. and ANY pinned lock can be bumped.. Virtually ANY, if yu have a blank and means of cutting it.. that more then the majority of customers..
Maybe if yu were a "picker" yu would stop assuming things.
Its like claiming that impression is never used, and is useless..
Locks are an Art.. So is this hoddy.
