Loss.

Before the winter I found a building with an atmosphere unmatched by anything I had found prior to it. I felt really at peace in this old foundry, but I had a feeling it would not be around much longer. I only regret that I made just 2 trips out to it.

The fog was as thick as I had ever seen. visibility was down to only a few yards. I approached the area that the amazing old structure had stood waiting, anticipating, wanting it to emerge from the fog so badly. Only when I stood where the brick arches had previously captivated me did I realize that it had been dispensed of. The once spectacular old foundry was now just two large cylinders….to my dismay.

I sat for awhile on the foundation as the 2 others I had visited with wandered off into the fog and away from all that remained.

Hey yeah you, fat ass. Not interested.

Beautiful pictures. Love the first two.

It's always sad to lose a place like that.

Too much contrast and saturation on the first 2.

#4 FTW! I love the lantern lighting in the fog, very cool effect. Is that a propane lantern or just an incandescent?

Love #4. Very cool.

I agree with suicidepact in that #1 and #2 are way over saturated. It's too bad that we can't see half of the spiderweb in #2 because of the white background. If you had shot at a downward angle (didn't mean to quote Boondock Saints there, just happened) then we could have see the whole thing.

#3 is semi-cool, it just bothers me a bit that the towers are angled. Can you straighten it?

Yeah, I probably could straighten it. It was hard to get the tripod straight with all the debris ;_;

First one is shocking...over sharpened, too much contrast - composition is weak.

However, I love pic three. Although it's not technically great you have captured so much atmosphere, and to me, that's what photography is all about!
