Strange, do you know what the car was doing there? I would be freaked out, thinking they would kidnap me or something! XD

At the time, I thought they were the people who used to live in the house coming back to make sure nobody was making a mess. It was just a normal car, so definitely not security. My guess is they were more curious snoopers like us, just old enough to drive.

I am going to make my first place a tunnel in town, and the second will be the Lyon Mountain facility. (I will share many pics after my voyage)

A house talked about on an abandoned website, we found it through some research and google maps. we got into it no problem parking at a church down the street, it was a Sunday so that worked pretty well, cut through some bushes and trees, it was pretty overgrown from the front. All was going great till he started going up to the attic, then all i heard was loud pounds on the floor and him running back down the stairs at me, haha we booked it outta there but think it was probably just a bird. After that we went to 2 or 3 other houses on a street of abandoned ones, and a psych hospital near where he lives. All the things that got us on our toes ended up being birds or animals. But it was a great trip.

Too bad i didn't have a camera yet.

Hmmm when I was 7 or 8 there were these "abandoned" houses in a nearby reservation that we would hike to in the summer camp I was in. The village wasn't really abandoned, but the idea of exploring forgotten buildings and whatnot fascinated me. I ended up wandering off for an hour or so (freaking the hell out of the counselors) trying to find more interesting buildings. Didn't really find anything though.

My first was an abandoned house in my town when I was about 16. I didn't drive but I was with my mom and convinced her to go there. She even went inside with me! A few weeks later we both went into an abandoned psychiatric hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan haha. Who can say that their mom explored with them?

I can say that my dad took me on my first UE, which was an abandoned cabin we visited when I was about four. My first solo was a stretch of 100-foot drain under the highway in Pueblo, CO.

There was a house on a main road near my place, every day I passed it on the bus without a second glance. The lawn was always well kept and the house seemed to be in good shape from the road. But one winter day I saw that a second floor window was wide open and a one of the first floor windows had been smashed.

My friend and I finally got around to going up to it and discovered that the back of the house was in bad shape and there was even a hole in the roof that couldn't be seen from the road. We walked in through the back door into the kitchen and found that the plastic vapor seal that used to be above the drywall ceiling had filled with water and mold, the floor was covered in mounds of wet drywall. We went across the living room and found a pile of books, melted by water, in the dining roof at the foot of the stairs; at the top of the stairs was a gaping hole in the floor. It appeared that the house was abandoned after a chimney fire, but the fire damage was just around the chimney on the second floor and the roof.

We found only one object in the house not smashed or ruined by water, a Holy Bible next to the door we came in through. Unfortunately the house has since been demolished and the one beautifully and immaculate grounds have gone to seed.

i consider myself an amateur ghost hunter, and those are the only places i actually look for.

if i stumble upon an abandonment or something cool (which i usually do whenever i walk my dog) then i check it out.

I honestly can't say that I remember my first trip into the unknown. I know it was long ago when I was just a young'n, and too ignorant to think anything of it. So I guess the first official exploring that I had done would have been when one of my friends brought me to an old run-down house off the road that he had seen while driving around. Later that day we even went on to explore an old factory. After I got back home I joined this site.... ahhh, what a good day that was.

Jarel! How's it, brother?

Yeah, that was a great day of exploring. Especially the trip to USF. Next time, we're finding a way onto the roof.

This is my first post in several years, and while my screen name is embarrassing now, it feels great to be back!
I was about to reply that my first UE was when I was 13 and was a storm sewer near my house, but actually when I was about 7 or 8 I was canoing with my dad at our Muskoka cottage and we stopped by this abandoned cottage. The glass was all smashed and the door open, we we went in and walked around a bit. I don't remember much about the place but it was exciting and definitely influenced me later on in life. The building was boarded up a couple years later, and around 2006 a new cottage was built on the lot. However the original "abandoned" one still stands near by for some reason.
Cheers,
Budgie.

I've come a long way from when I first found UE, but I'm back.

My dad took me to a huge old farmhouse when I was 4. It was one of his development projects for his company and it was going to be razed. The first visit, the house was perfectly intact with furniture. It looked like the people up and left that day.

The next time we visited the place, maybe a few weeks later, the place was trashed. All the windows were busted, fixtures smashed, furniture thrown everywhere.
