Does anybody know what the fine is for trespassing? I know it's different from state to state but it's basically just a ticket right?

Last time I got caught for trespassing, it involved a $200 fine, a man with a white latex glove and a tube of astro-glide, asian midgets, and complimentary tickets to the policeman's ball

Steal only whatever you can run with comfortably and leave no footprints

A few of my acquaintances got trespassing charges for swimming at the quarry pool.
I think they got 3 months unsupervised probation.
It really just depends.

Thanks for the info, It looks like there is a lot of gray area between a class one and class three misdemeanor. Sounds like it all depends how bad of a day whoever busts you is having.

Also, if you get caught with anything from the site, or tools they can be counted as theft or break & enter charge, or if not the charge then intent.

V-tech = V-Tek = Veetek = Witek. Make it count, say it right.

Exactly. Take only pictures; don't bring tools, or damage anything. Don't B&E, or go where people live.
Don't muck with federal property; very stiff fines and possible jail time for first offenses.
Use common sense, conditions vary. Truly abandoned sites are legal to enter.

honestly, while it may be more dangerous (legality-wise) government owned property is ridiculously interesting.

Yes they can very interesting, but active Federal sites are to be avoided. A federal court appearance alone will cost you thousands of dollars.
More than one person has "disappeared" from this site after a federal trespass conviction.

FED property got 6 month probation, $75.00 fine, a stern talking too and all other kinds of good stuff.

Not a good idea to do since Sep 11 but they are some of the most interesting places out there.

Also not a good idea to be the oldest person in the group..........you become the ring leader by proxy.

Ha-ha, good point about groups; the conspiracy theory at work.
Now is a very bad time to get caught on federal property, especially a DOD site, DOE site, or a telecommunication site... I know of one who had to pay $6G for being a risk taker.
They only got a few shots; was that $900 per crappy P&S image?

I think I will pass on a very tempting Federal Site for $6K. I think that would probably include water treatments plants. I think they are under department of homeland security protection. I guess you just gotta be careful when it comes to anything involving government sites.

Being young in this adventure does have it's perks.

Getting caught, you can say it was childish innocence.....even though we all know your true intentions. Use this to your advantage at every opportunity grasshopper.

Very true. I doubt a minor would be given the same punishment as I if caught red handed at a government site.

Don't push the minor thing too hard as even a minor can be charged as an adult if the offense is serious enough.
A terrorist (hostile) is a terrorist (hostile), be they 12 or 80.

If you want to go into the military, or have a cushy gov job in the future, a fed conviction could squash those opportunities as well.
This can effect many other aspects of your life as well, including when a potential landlord or civvy employer runs a background check on you.

Best advice; don't get caught!
2nd best; since eventually everything/one fucks up, you will get caught. Keep it survivable, and limit the amount of damage by using your head and not getting into a hole too deep too see day light!
Don't carry drugs, weapons, tools, or minors

one time i found a parking lot full of m1 Abrams and the gate was open so i walked in and started taking pictures, about 10 minutes later an old guy in a cucv with blue lights drove by and said i was on gov't property and i had to leave, he wrote down my name and then drove off again, they didn't even escort me out or watch me to make sure i left.
