| | | I voted leave them accessable. Maximum access means if you need to get out in a hurry, you can. in fact, the only grating that should be allowed on drains is infalls. if the outfall is sumped, a clearly marked safe exit manhole could be marked up somewhere along the way on longer drains that have a history of recrational useage.

| | | This isn't really a poll that will affect anything, it's of one of those things that they ask on news websites to see what people think.

*point realized* It would be nice to see more councils just leave drains open so that people could get out in a hurry if they're somehow in there.

| | | ...nb it was the inaccessability of this drain that actually killed them......those steel bars were there to stop ppl getting in..and its what stopped them being flushed into the sea and potentially swimming away ( assuming they survived the 1km tumble to the 15ft concrete bottomed drop ) the question is , what do they mean by making drains more inaccessible ? do they fence around the outside of outfall / infalls or do they mean putting industrial grilles on them and turn them into death traps ? it is no doubt, poll or not, that the authoritas will be sitting around discussing this issue to avoid liability in the future

With my dad's access to super secret databases I have the Sydney Water top secret sealing the drain plans! Their plan as they tell it to the public. "We are going to seal all drain entrances, make the drains completely inaccessible to any person. We will install motion detection alarms, CCT surveillance, guard dogs and will employ our own Drain Police that will serve a similar function to ticket inspectors in Sydney trains, booking and fining people who do not have authorisation to be in the drains." Their plan in reality. "We will tell the media and public that we are doing something about this until the next big news story comes along and they forget all about it." It's always the way.
Caution! This user is a wise ass and may use sarcasm. Is my back pack good enough for UERing? |
