Went out and shot a seniors event for a local organization... what would you do differently?

Setup:
One SB-600 firing into umbrella at tripod right, another SB-600 with blue gel firing up at background. Fired via Cactus radio triggers.

Thanks.

My only forgetful moment was not locking in the white balance..... so a couple of them the colors are slightly off.

My only critique really would be to set the light off to the side more. It makes the photos look more dynamic when the light isn't reflecting off of every balloon and the ladies glasses straight back to the camera. Work with positioning your light and take a few practice shots. Looks like a fun night for the seniors.

Thanks. I'll try moving the light a bit to the side next time.

I know I do need to practice lighting a bit more, which is the whole reason I volunteered last night.... I don't have a slew of people to practice with at home.

a closer crop would work better, apart from that I like them, having the flash firing up the back has given a very defined outline.

What the........??

I post one picture of an alleyway in the city on here and people jump all over me for posting something that wasn't "urban-exploration enough"...well...different moods at different times I guess eh...

But, hey, abstract is fun. These photos are fun. I keep going back to look at the couple with the kilt guy. There is something really quirky and fun about it.
