The unidentified structure or What Am I thread?

It occurred to me that maybe somebody might see some unidentifiable objects or building here and actually put the resource in Urban Exploration Resource for me.

(be advised this is public viewable and we already have a meaningless structure thread)

Heres mine any info would be appreciated its just west of Terrell Texas in a little community called Lawrence.

Anyone else with a building or structure machine or object they cant ID post it here and maybe get some help with your problem!

2Xplorations...that's a cool looking structure; were you able to get inside? If so, some interior pics might give some clues.

Great thread idea, by the way...I'm new here, but I'm really enjoying all the great finds and photos folks have been sharing!

Ok no ideas on the first one, whats wrong with all you awesome explorers!

Heres another one I cant figure out:

In the second shot the metal housing appears to have been part of a blower, it ducted directly into the furnace area beneath the smoke stack.

Adjacent to the building were some support pillars for something:

I have run out of ideas.

Gigantic forge?

Kiln?

Open air smelter?

One whole side is covered with dirt and gravel the rest is kinda obscured by trees.

So,
I'm not sure about this one but I have an educated guess. Laura and I were out scouting bike trails today and the first one, McCommas Bluff was out in the sticks off 175. We followed the directions given by dallasparks.org and it said "...follow Riverwood until it dead ends and turn right onto flexbase road." We ended up in a place that was mowed but that's as close to a park as it got. We parked and followed a dirt road thinking it might be the trail but it had posted and no trespassing signs. We kept walking and noticed lots of huge dog tracks in the dried mud and fresh ones along with truck tire tracks. For some reason, although I'd never been there, it was seeming oddly familiar. I remembered a 2X story about a crazy old guy with a portable church building with stained glass windows and big dogs. I decided we should backtrack and I left Laura at the car and hit the river, which was 40 or 50 feet below where we parked. That's when I found this structure and remembered 2X's story about old Trinity River locks. Anyhow, that's what I'm guessing it is.

I'm a blatant waste of time and resources.

2X, I've seen a structure just like that on the trinity over by irving (right off shady grove road). I believe its a pump house.

Not sure how they did this...or why...

I know the one you speak of just before the bridge. Its certainly from about the same period.

That dams pretty cool, looks like they added that drain hole with a jack hammer after the fact.

This one always bothered me, I had an apartment that backed up to White Rock Creek and I guess it was from the days of when the creek served as a quarry (the 5th Dallas Courthouse was built of this limestone....till it burned in 1890, it was thought to be fireproof after the other 4 burned down).

Sorry its so small

BTW: Barry your locks were constructed 1900 -1915 and called the McCommas Bluff. I cant imagine paddle boats cruising the Trinity. The locks were constructed due to the unpredictable water levels and the massive snags on the river bottom.

I still haven't figured out the full story on this building yet.

I know it was once part of an old military camp and seems to be the only building left. The only thing inside looked like ovens filled with ash.

So, probably just handled all the camps trash burning needs? Strange that it would be left while I couldn't find any other buildings.
