| | stupid Javascript Santa and Reindeer and snowman! DIE!!! < on 12/16/2007 7:47 PM >
| | | Okay, I would put this in the general forum, but since this is SPECIFICALLY related to UER, and since I'm new, I'm putting it in this forum: What the heck is up with the stupid javascript, all of a sudden? It's as if Christmas is some sort of drug that makes web page designers think they can torture viewers like this! I have these stupid reindeer that follow my cursor around all around UER. What the deuce? And, if I accidentally click on them, a message comes up saying, "We're reindeer," as if I didn't already know! Do the administrators of UER do this only to newbies like me, or do they torture the rest of the community, as well?

Over-react much?
Additional - Posts like this really get under my skin but since you are new I will try to hold my temper... UER is a FREE web page and a very convienient resourse for all explorers who want to use it. It is taken for granted. What is also taken for granted is the many hours that AV and the mods spend keeping this place in order so we can bitch and moan about it. Running a site this size is a full time gig, but somehow the mods and AV still keep full time jobs and also find time to explore. Seems like they "pay" us all the time with their free time and expect very little to nothing in return. SO what do we do? We moan and bitch about a Christmas theme that will go away in 10 friggin days. From where I am sitting, having colorful lights and a funny curser and some silly christmas music is a very small price to pay for an all year long service that has been very positive and usefull for the past 5 years. Bottom line, its AV's site and he is into silly stuff like this, not to mention it was a friendly gesture to the user comunity. If he wants a Christmas theme for the holidays, who are we to say he can't have it. Plus I kinda like the Cristmas sillyness every year, it lightens things up. End rant. | | | I love it and I love Av for doing it. I have no idea why people get their panties in a bunch. In a nutshell, I agree with Maypost.

| | | To be quite honest, it mostly makes me laugh. I'm not really mad about it. But... NOW there's flashing lights! Anyways, I don't expect anything to change because of me whining about it. Honestly, I do appreciate it because it makes things interesting, even though it breaks every single design rule ever.
