Did you do anything to it in photoshop? It looks a bit oversharpened, especially around those things in the lower left corner. Your subject (which I'm hoping you intended to be the person) is not lit properly. If you weren't using artificial lighting I know this can be hard sometimes. You need to use the lighting given to you to your advantage. He is lit from the right/back, and we're looking at him from the left. This makes him seem less important. The exposure looks pretty good though, and the colors are amazing.

You dont do out door lighting for a Graf shot on a sunny day, or anyday. Most Graf writers dont want to be recognizable in the shots ( because of the vandalism thing). The main focal point is the art, not the writer. I do agree photoshop for a Graf shot is stupid, but I also think that this is HR's best pic so far.

Shadows are a bit heavy...too much contrast...and the subject isn't that strong. It's not a bad shot at all but for something like this I'd like to see more action and drama in the composition...something that works more with the subject.

To be honest, I meant to use the shadow as the subject which is why it is so dark.
Do you think my purpose would be better served to maybe even crop the artist out of the photo?

I have several other frames of the artists shadow against the wall.

I like the second one. Its not perfect, but I think its definitely better if you want the shadow as the subject. The lack of car is good stuff too.

I like it with the artist in it. And i would love to see the finished piece. And more by this artist if you have it. And before you get flamed here, join the private graffiti board. Then you don't have to worry about getting a moral lesson from someone who breaks the law as a hobby lol.

btw trespassing and graffiti are bad. all bad.

im really digging the one with the shadow as well. it really fits the genre symbolically as writers usually try to remain anonymous yet the subject of their writing is usually a tag of their "name" - its kinda like becoming a ghost or a phantom and leaving evidence all over. thats why i love graffiti so much in general

5'1" and not afraid to use it...
