| | | I don't know if the quantity is already replacing the quality (if there's even never been that in my god damned over 'artistic' (joke number 1) photos), but here we go, AGAIN! (and don't worry - my camera is taking his last breaths and I will drop much smaller unemployment benefit in two weeks so I think that almost all of this, who knows how long time) Cold morning, few hours photographing in a small place. First it did seem like there ain't nothing new to catch, but when sun did rise and I did get little bit more light... There were something anyway.

| | | Nice photos but I think the broken glass/window thing is way over done.
EDIT: unless there's something really interesting or unique in it, like No. 5. [last edit 11/30/2007 8:14 PM by Atomic-Lard - edited 1 times]

These are clearly ahead of the pack though, I personally don't think I've seen any on par with these. If anyone else thinks they've seen better, I'd love to check them out. The first one is lacking a bit though, because while the cracks in the glass looks nice, the composition emphasizes the the moth as the primary subject, but it seems out of focus and/or overexposed, because it lacks much detail. Either a closer macro shot of the moth (very carefully focused and properly exposed), or the same exact composition but with no moth (the web would still be nice though) and a different background (something with a slight change in texture that works with the rest of the composition) would make much better images I think. The latter idea is pretty much what "Broken" is... that one is pretty much flawless to my eye, although the first one has a bit more interesting stuff going on in terms of the way the glass cracked. I agree with Atomic-Lard that the drinking glass in the last makes for a particularly interesting subject. Keep it up Wolfheart!

| | | Yeah, you are absolutely right with that first one. Anyway, it was hard times for my camera (and me too - so damned cold!), white subject in the dark, I did have to balance between over exposuring that butterfly and getting even some details from the glass. Even hdr didn't save the situation, 'cause it did just overexposure that butterfly. Also I was fighting with focus range - I did try it with smaller aperture too to get more details, but then it did background too 'confused', 'cause there were another glass behind and it was so damned dirty and then all of that did come in to picture too. But I'll think that I return there and try to improve - this photo eats my nerves too. And thanks for nice comment!

Yes, I should have recognized in my critique that this was a very challenging shot you attempted, and you did a much better job with it then I or my camera could handle

| | | Thank you very much, I appreciate that - I've been afraid that my photos would be more like kindergarten level. And there's so many tastes in this world, other likes daughter, other likes mother and flies even shit! And as I said before, my camera is dying, so your wish may come true sooner... Or later.
