That's a real beauty man. And that new TV would make a great new spot to drink beer and watch TV with your buds! Whatever it cost, you got a steal.

| | | now torn down house we helped tear down for wood for building as a community service project.

there were probably hundreds of these stones laying all over the place in the buildings and ground. most of em dated in the early 1900s

collapsed ceiling, the bedroom fell into the dinning room.

and this for good measure, a grain silo under a friends house in rural kansas, with a hugeass dent in it from a microburst

| | | I hope we aren't actually expected to pick one submitter as the best. Totally impossible. The trailer brings back memories--raised both of my kids in one of those babies. Except ours wasn't a double-wide. Yup, I come from a long line of trailer trash, I do. 2X, the first thing that ran through my mind when I saw the first pic in your post was--is this an alien crash site or something? That's ok. My hubby told me the other day that he didn't want to go anywhere this weekend, and my first thought was--it must be Superbowl weekend. School is sucking the life outta me, y'all. Cute snake! And what happened to all the ancient chairs? Gawd, I love old stuff.

| | | that snake was a baby diamond back :B but we managed to take it outside, but he seemed pretty sick, hopefully a hawk got a good snack outa him at least. that place got leveled, it was just a dirt pile when i went back with a few of those stones laying about, i took what was semi-salvageable to stick in my garden eventually before it got smashed to top soil or a dumped in a land fill.

| | | Not to be an ass, but that snake was not "a baby diamondback" judging by the head shape and gray/brown splotches it was a very young black rat snake, (Elaphe obsoleta). Occasionally these snakes will vibrate their tail, usually in dry leaves to mimic rattlesnakes as a defense mechanism. Im so glad you didn't kill it though, to many people just kill snakes for no reason.
Don't want to sound like the herpetology asshole, just clarifying.

Dang! Smart little suckers! I'm ok with snakes, although I don't care to meet them face-to-face often. It's spiders that come from the depths of hell. ETA: I really like those new ones you posted, 2X, but it's beginning to scare me how much of this stuff I either grew up with or raised my kids with. Just think--somewhere, there is a house with TWO ancient refrigerators just like my grandmother's! [last edit 11/26/2007 2:27 AM by White Winged Dove - edited 1 times]
