I'm new at this and I don't have an expensive camera, just an Olympus digital camera. Anyhow, these photos may not be the best, but I would like an opinion.

I like the composition in the first shot very much, wit the car off in the right third of the image and the rail tracks leading my eyes down the line. I do feel it would benefit from being B&W more than it does in color though, I find that the colors are distracting in this shot.

I'm not terribly captivated by the second shot, the car is just sitting in the middle of the frame, perhaps try composing it differently, though however you do it, keeping the tracks in the foreground like you have is a nice touch.

I like the final shot's perspective, but I find the blown out sky in the top right corner distracting, perhaps try cropping it out? This is also another shot that i think would look smashing in black and white.

As for the camera equipment, don't worry about it too much. The camera is only a tool that you use to achieve your end vision. Work on the camera skills first and then worry more about the tools that you capture with. Having a 1000$ hammer won't help you if you don't know how to hammer a nail in the same way that having an expensive camera won't make you take better pictures. Those come from YOU, not the camera.

Anyways, these are just my thoughts, others feel free to add their opinions too!
Keep on shooting!

What you really need to work on is colours. The worst problem you had in your photo shoot is the sky. If you'd gone out at a different time of day, when it wasn't overcast, when the sun was shining directly on your subject, you would be much more satisfied with the pictures. When there is sunlight I find most of my composition decisions are made out of necessity. After all, a camera photographs light, not objects.

The third picture shows some composition skill, and I'd like to see more photos like that. Go back on a sunny day, especially in the last hour before sunset, known as the golden hour.

Thanks, I think I have some black and white shots of this.
