Virginity, communism, confession, isolation.

I bring my Canon with me everywhere, but I try to travel as light as possible (I'm currently without car), so I left my tripod at home, since today wasn't at all a planned photo adventure. So, yeah, some shots are crooked, I tried my best while stuck shooting handheld.

While trying to find the way back to the pike from Pittsfield, MA, we got considerably lost and happened upon this little Shaker settlement. A later Google search told me it's actually in Hancock, MA, right near the NY border. The place seems to have been restored and well-maintained, and I think they give tours and have a gift shop. So, technically not UE.

All are shot with a Canon Rebel XT & 18-55mm kit lens. Color photos included the use of a circular polarizer, B&W shots included the use of either a yellow or red filter.

Critique away.

one.

two.

three.

four.

five. something's wrong with this, but idk what.

Okay for this one, I can't decide if i like the shot better in B&W or color. Thoughts?

six. shot in color w/ circular polarizer filter

seven. shot in b&w w/ yellow filter

dsankt: BNT rocks shiny penny loafers. I heard he explores in them cos it puts a spring in his step for the laddies.
Contagion: I still think BrandNewTeeth is a prick, no matter what. Bitch ate all of my thanksgiving leftovers!

They're all quite good. I'd venture saying the problem with 5 is that you should have stepped back more or gotten more into the frame somehow. The awkwardness I'm noticing is the right hand of the tree getting kind of cut off, as is the left side of the path. I personally am a symmetry shooter though. Thats why #3 makes me happy in the pants.
