Power plant in austin

I and a two other explorers will be attempting to check out an old power plant by the water soon to be renovated into condos or a multitude of restaraunts. If anyone has any pertinent information before we scope it out tonight, I would be much obliged. Dont worry all, we are going there to just take pictures before they change it so drastically. We follow the take pictures leave footprints mentality.

I find its always best to prepare for an infiltration such as this several days in advance.

1. be sure youve scoped out all the potential entry points such as openings in the fence and visibility to security, neighbors etc

2. identify a good place to park that wont draw attention to someone being inside

3. post a publically viewable thread on the World Wide Web telling everyone when youre going to be trespassing

Good to go.

Lol, well i tried posting a legit post but got no replies. Apparently in the UE world, nothing ventured is nothing gained. Tonight we are just going to scope it out so nothing is going on tonight. I figure The more active I am the more trusting you guys are going to be. Maybe, just maybe, i'll meet honest to goodness real live locals who are interested in this eventually

Well if I were in Austin I would go, for sure....but am here in Dallas. I dont know of any UE prospects there except the sniper tower, but now that its open....it doesnt count.

Let me know if you are ever in Austin and we can check some stuff out. I've seen some crazy looking places out dirtbiking and have some tunnels to check out that I havent seen anyone post on yet. I'll keep you all informed and hopefully show you guys some new places.

yeah because what are the chances of some random guy who owns a random power plant thinking, "i think someone is going to break into my power plant tomorrow" and then searching the web for hours to find a random site where some other random guy has made a random post about breaking into that same exact place on a random night and then....
ahh who am i kidding no one has that much time

that is almost as brilliant as your idea about calling the D.A.s office to get access to the city's utility tunnels

how'd that work out for ya by the way? you did call them right??

Well actually, seeing how I am sorta in the biz so to speak, Architecture, Engineering and construction, I talk and work with engineering and facilities people at a lot of cities, such as Houston, Dallas, Austin, etc.. not to mention small towns also, I have asked a few people I know well if they monitor any of the exploration sites and many have told me that they have a few they check every morning as part of their daily routine. As for the one your talking about, I went to a pre-bid meeting out there a few months back, I posted something before about they were going to be tearing it down, and when we went they had a fairly strong security and police presence. It is a pretty nasty and dangerous site, would be especially at night, lot of open pits/holes, rotted steel, contaminants etc... As much as they talk about cleaning the area up etc.. it as much of not more about the liability of someone getting in and getting hurt or poisoned.

If you are talking about the farther east of the two shut-down power plants, then I'd just use as little light as possible, since there are neighborhoods surrounding it. If you are talking about the further west one. Have exit routes carefully planned, and realize they use that place as a theatrical venue sometimes so it will be locked and maintained.

I think it was the Attorney General's office that was involved... Didn't you hear about it on the news? DHS is involved at this point.

So how did you contact them. Was it telepathic?
