I bought this thing off a dude who was living at the salvation army for $200. 1980 gs1000. running.

I took it apart to rebuild the thing... a bunch of shit happened and, well, it never got put back together. When I move a couple months later I tore the plate off and abandoned it in the back of that nice parking garage you see there.

Still makes me sick to this day looking at these pics and seeing how cool of a bike that was...the only good thing i can come up with is that maybe i would have gotten killed on it and was never meant to ride it....?

anyway, heres my abandoned vehicle....its a sin. :-(

Likely lost it's airworthiness certification.

Amazing that something tacked together about as well as a Volkswagen is allowed to fly around over your city...

but hey, at least they remembered the cigar lighter!

LOL I was wondering if anyone would notice that.....if anyone would it would be 2x.

Its actually an excellent aircraft,a NAVION, originally designed by North American Aviation (same makers of my personal favorite the P51 Mustang) right after world war 2, when civil aviation was booming. North American sold the rights to Ryan aviation and built only about 1200 of the type. Best I can tell this is a 1949 model.

Its been in the same location for at least 15 years, and at one point a good friend (ex. WW2 pilot) and myself tried to buy it. To no avail, I suppose it is doomed to the hazards of the seasons. Truly a shame.

Certainly not a marginal and meaningless aircraft!!!!!!

http://cat.org.au/~predator/approach.txt

There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part; you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop...
