Share your out of context structures or any marginal ruined concrete cylinder photos you might have here!

I'll get the ball rolling with this one, its completely marginal and very nearly ruined.

Enjoy!

Umm! Excuse me sir! Can you please give us a history lesson on those? I can't just sit here and look at a picture of concrete and not wonder to myself where it was mixed, and what type of mixture was used. Come on man!

Ok, I know the history on this place and I'm sure some of you will recognize it, but I took this picture because this part of the structure really baffled me and still does.

Why the picnic table made of stone OUTSIDE, and even more baffling to me is if you look on the wall to the right of the table, there is a part in the wall that is basically a box cut out of the wall. Inside the box it was painted like a painting of a landscape, but I just wonder.... why? It looked almost like a fish tank or something. It was really strange..

Edit to add: Ok, I realize a picnic table outside isn't all that strange, but this one was for some reason.

these gates were just sitting in front of a massive field, no signs of even beginning land development, barely even a path leading from them.

no history, no mixture formulas, but most important, none of you bastards included a write up about "where it's going" This could be my favorite thread this week.

Did you do an analysis of the cement mix?

Ok, ok, results just came back....

Determination of major oxides, loss on ignition, insoluble residue, sulfide, sulfate and manganese with National annexes on determination of sulfur, minor constituents and free lime in cement, on methylene blue absorption and total organic carbon content of limestone and on X-ray fluorescence analysis of - All clear!

Cement Content and Aggregate Cement Ratio - 2:1 Check!

Cement Content and Pulverised fuel ash/fly ash (pfa) content- 141.222:7 CHECK!

Water/Cement Ratio - +2,+6,-1 CKECK!

Aggregate Grading - grade 2 aggregation with a 2 standard deviation <---- GOOD SHIT!

There you have it. That was a lot of work for a shitty foto....but I do it for the kids

Right on the edge of the South, but in Texas nonetheless.

Be it known, I do know the history of this structure, down to the names of the four men who built it, and the week in 1904 when they put it up. I know where the trees were cut to build it, and I have a wedge that these four men left stuck in a stump after they cut one of the trees. I know the people whose land it is on now, and I dated the great-granddaughter of one of the builders.

I simply choose not to share this information with you.

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.
