| | | I really enjoy the 17-40 F4L but the 24-105 F4L is also a nice piece of kit. But my 24mm F3.5 TS-E is great for getting rid of keystoning, and doing selective focus shots.

| | | Judging from earlier postings in this thread, I am very, very average: ;) Nikon AF 35mm, f2.0D Nikon AF-S DX 18-135mm, f3.5-5.6G Nikon AF-S VR 70-300mm, f4.5-5.6G All with Hoya UV filters + a D80 body. Most of the time I use the 35mm. Once I get around to it, I will sell the VR - I hardly ever use it. With some luck, I may be able to trade it for a decent 10/12mm. The DX is a versatile piece of kit, though.

| | | On my Nikon D70/N2020 I change between: Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8 IF ED Nikon 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR ED (Often carry this instead of binoculars) I will however say that I'm heavily looking at the Nikon 35-70mm f/2.8 and the Tokina 12-24mm... In addition I carry the Nikon SB-800...

| | | on my canon rebel xti [400D] i use: - canon 15mm f/2.8 fisheye {$550] - canon 24-105mm f/4L IS USM [$1000] both of which are fantastic lenses. the 24-105 has infinity focus so it's great for putting on manual and shooting UE night shots. you don't have to use a flashlight and sit through the lens trying to AF. the fisheye on my 1.6x crop camera works more as a wide angle, but i definitely recommend a wide angle to get small room shots. i am selling my canon 24-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM lens because i wasn't very happy with it. my next 2 purchases will be: - canon 70-200 f/2.8L [$1150] - canon 1.4x extender II [$275] then i will consider my camera kit fairly complete...

| | | I know NOTHING about photography but im trying to learn. I am surprised to see almost 0 canon lenses listed here. The camera purchase recommendation thread included lots of recommendations for canon and also lots for nikon but the lenses seem completely dominated by nikon. Canon users just not posting maybe? Are the Canon lenses just very expensive or do the camera users just not use lenses??

| | | I am stuck with the kit lenses on my cameras at the moment... Namely a Canon 400d with the 18-55 and Nikon FM with 50mm f1.8 I would like to upgrade sometime in the future, a Canon 28mm f1.8 for the 400d to get a similar performance to the 50mm f1.8 on the Nikon for low light work, and a Canon 10-22mm for a proper wide angle. For the Nikon I would love to get my hands on a 30mm f2 or something similar, but it was bought with the intention of sticking to the one prime (and learning to work around the restrictions) so that is how I am keeping it for now

| | | I'm using the canon 28-135 IS USM most of the time for my ue shots. And I'm thinking about buying the 70-200 f/4L. I'm doing landscape photography and portrait so this seems to be the perfect lens. I'm just not sure about the maximum aperture value. F4 seems quite small to me for portrait [last edit 4/4/2008 4:30 AM by Mickael - edited 1 times]

| | | Just the kit Canon 18-55mm and a borrowed 35-135mm on my 350D. I'm looking to add a Canon 50mm 1.8 II and then much farther down the line a 17-40 f/4L
