Ok, so in the new members thread I posted some photos of an old psychiatric hospital that I used to use for airsoft (a sport similar to paintball) and received a few PM's asking for more photos and the story behind it.

The first group of photos were taken about two years ago, we were given a guided tour of the building by the owner. The building was used as part of the hospital until there was a large upgrade and a lot of new buildings were built in 1994. Since they had a limited budget and there wasn't a company that could do such a big job cheaply the old buildings were left standing and rented out for storage. This set of buildings we used was two buildings on opposite sides of a courtyard, they were almost exactly the same. The reason we got to use the building is because the couple who were leasing the place for storage had split up and the womans husband had buggered off and she was left paying the rent while the lawyers sorted stuff out, the husband was meant to start a business for firewood (that explains all the wood in the courtyard) so she rented it out to groups that could use it, such as search and rescue for training, the police for training, and us.

In either 2006 or 2007 the building was demolished, there are no current plans for the site, and I'm unsure if the other surviving buildings are going to be pulled down soon. I have been trying to get hold of the museum that's on site to maybe arrange a tour to have a look at the rest of the buildings and find some more out about the place, but the museum is only open for about five hours on Tuesdays.
Now for the moment you have all been waiting for, photos. I'm sorry they aren't as arty as some of the others I have seen on here as they were taken to show people around the site, rather than some of the stuff in it.

This is the front of the building seen from the road as you come in
This is the drive, very loosely blocked of with pallets
The second building on the site, as soon as you came down the drive
some other views of the second buildingtwo Three
It was the more secure of the two buildings and had some nice floorboards stored in it, the stairs were also blocked of with lots of wooden boxes, we later moved them all, and also found another way up.
This is under the second building all the copper pipes were still intact, it was quite cramped under there and we found a few things from when the still used the building such as a wheelchairs.
This is the front of the building you could see from the road the main entrance was blocked off but you could go though another door way where this greeted you continuing along this was in front of you and This was to your left Behind it was this big room with two smaller rooms right at the end
Going down the hallway to the right there were a few small rooms along them and a fairly big kitchen at the end

Up the stairs and onto the second floor there were a about four big rooms that would have got a lot of sunI don't know what they were used for, maybe a dorm and a rec room?. One of the vandals/taggers who had hit the place must have been a batman fan as there were batman logos everywhere, the ladder in the background leads to the attic, it was untouched up there.
In the bathroom there were two baths which I found odd, but looking at photos of similar sites it looks common. We also had access to balconies at each end that lead to stairs to the ground floor which I found odd since it was a psychiatric hospital.

These next photos were taken last week showing the site as it is now.

Looking down onto the site from the road, they have trimmed all the bushes and turned all the wood into mulch They have also Turned the building into pebbles, it's odd how two, two story buildings can be turned into a pile this big.
You can see where they filled in the connecting tunnels with the pebbles.
There was also this truck that was either pulled from the building before it was pulled down, or was so covered in weeds we never noticed it. More truck one two three
