I'm from Wellington, so it's right down the other end of the north island (about a six hour drive) so I can't really help you if you're only going to Auckland as the last time I was there I was about nine but there is bound to be some good places there. If you're down in wellington I can point you to a few places but won't be able to guide you as I'm going to be out of the country at that time. If you are thinking of coming to Wellington then I might be able to be helpful in telling you about some decent locations.
