question about posting photos
< on 9/17/2007 1:25 AM >

I've been looking around here for a while, and there have been multiple times where I wanted to post pictures. The only thing is, when I click attach an image, the limit is 100k, but when I look around other threads I find many photos that are larger than 100k. Is this an option only allowed to full members? Or is there something else that I am missing?

walking in this unknown empty land,
so confused for what's wrong or right. Searching for my inner power. - Nightrage-Circle of Pain

I upload them to another site (I use photobucket.com) and then just link them with IMG code.

V-tech = V-Tek = Veetek = Witek. Make it count, say it right.

I got tired of using photobucket and the such, as I like flickr's layout much better. Would it work with a photo uploaded from that site?

and what is the img code for this site?

It would work if that site allows remote hotlinking. Not sure if it does.
The code is:
insert link to photo here
The img code in the brackets has no spaces when you type it.

V-tech = V-Tek = Veetek = Witek. Make it count, say it right.

Flickr allows you too. Click on the "more sizes" button. It should be towards the bottom of the page.

I'm spinning counter-clockwise, each turn robs the planet of angular momentum, slowing its spin the tiniest bit, lengthening the night, pushing back the dawn, giving me a little more time here with you.

Ahoy mateys!

Ye best remember that flickr images have to link back to their photo page. I do it with:

Here is the code used for the below example:

flickr photos don't have to link back to flickr. Flicker provides the image link itself below the embed code

The Flickr community guidelines say:

Do link back to Flickr when you post your photos elsewhere.
The Flickr service makes it possible to post images hosted on Flickr to outside web sites. However, pages on other web sites that display images hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo back to its photo page on Flickr.

Also, the flickr embed code is HTML, which will not work on here.
