| | | Here's a collection of abandoned businesses and other institutions, from lawnmower repair shops peeled like onions, to broken masonic lodges, to deserted hospitals and nursing homes. One of these in particular hits home; when Theresa and I were involved in a car wreck in St. Bernard Parish way back in 1995, Theresa was treated for a wrenched back at Methodist Hospital. Of all of these I think I find the lone McDonalds sign the most surprising. A lot of national chains at least made a pass through the hurricane zone to remove their signage from the wreckage - Six Flags just painted the signs visible from the interstate black. I would have expected McDonalds to do this as well, but almost every one of the signs still stands.

| | | Wow... it's amazing to see after all this time, the destruction and mess is still there.
