I went by and met your buddy today. Nice guy but not exactly MENSA material.
The truck in #8 was his. He said the one that went by him was the third to blow and he wanted to save his truck he'd been restoring. Prolly worth a million dollars.
The destruction is pretty friggin' cool. They were replacing the melted fence when I got there.

They don't seem to have moved the burned-out cars -- I snapped a pic with my cell phone camera, but it looks about the same as the pictures above, just grainier. Are they waiting for insurance, or something? Maybe they can leave them there, kinda like a Dallas version of the Cadillac Ranch.
The most bizarre thing is that none of the nearby liquor stores seems to have been damaged in the slightest, not even the one right next to the explosion site.

the majority of the heat went straight up
but the cylinders shot through a chain link fence, ricocheted of the pavement and still had enough power left to penetrate concrete block walls like this one
