Help me become a photographer

Hi, I don't know much about photography, but I would like to, so I have posted a couple of pictures here from my latest excursion that I thought were interesting, please help me find what's good about them, and not so good about them, and maybe one day you'll all have nothing bad to say about my photos.

Those are the ones I'm interested, if you're just curious to see other shots from this site, here's the link:

Thanks in advance for any tips!

I like the second one a lot. The first one is an interesting structure but might look better from a different angle. If you're shooting digital you really don't lose anything by taking pictures from different angles and comparing them later. The third one doesn't really have any kind of focus. I can't even tell which way is up.

The first one is interesting, I like symmetry. I would have taken like a half step to the right to make it perfectly symmetrical. I also would have toned down the exposure a little bit, it's a little bright in my opinion.

The second one is really good. The light source is at the perfect spot in the picture, nice work.

Three is also interesting, but as said before it's out of focus.

Nice work man

For three, back the camera a couple inches further away from the wall, so it is in front of the ladder instead of under it.

Composition-wise...I'd crop the bottom of photo #1, so the copper/iron pipe isn't distracting the viewer. While I love #3's general composition (with the bars nearly overlapping each other and disappearing), I think it would work better turned 90 degrees on its side (so the bars make the letter "n" not "u" or "c")

1 is kind of snap-shotty. try finding a certain aspect of the area and focus on it for instance; focus on one of the pillars and get some dof.

2 this one shows potential, i like the subject. try working on you exposure levels. if you are shooting digital, stay there and keep shooting the different exposures untill you get it right.

3 try to avoid shooting objects directly in front of windows. you will normally get the " blown out" effect. same as before with this one just work on you focusing and exposures.
