My name in the program for the Saturday night Roller Derby between the Dallas Derby Devils and Assassination City:

My daughter is a skating carhop at Sonic. She said a Roller Derby team member asked her to join, but she declined -- black eyes and broken bones aren't on her to-do list. Nonetheless, I really want to see the sport some day, but I never have time.

Women's sports are awesome. Who the hell defined "macho" as watching a bunch of hairy, sweaty guys with titles like "Tight End" and "Wide Receiver"?

Thanks everyone! I was pretty excited about it.

No, I'm not in roller derby. I would LOVE to be, but 1. I'm not a good enough skater. I would have to really work on that part of it, which is do-able enough, but 2. I don't have the time to commit and 3. My boyfriend is the head ref (The one in the middle who would be in the position of Jesus if this had been the real 'Last Supper' picture, and they are not allowed to date, much less MARRY one of the skaters on their own league. *grin*

And yes, the Holey Grail is Styrofoam and the glorious grub was nachos! Barry, I think you're the only one to notice that we did a Last Supper pose!

How has no one caught this yet? I'm hurt.

So are we all invited to the weddin'? At least the reception. It could be in any abandonment of the Bride's choice.

What would be a suitable wedding gift?
Camera batteries?
Tripod?
First aid kit?
GPS?
Cammo gear?

Actually, we're going to get married in Paris...

...Texas. Maybe.

At the JP's office. We don't really want anything big, but we will be having some sort of get together to celebrate I'm sure. I think an abandonment reception would be sweet! I just don't think he's into exploring the way I am, but that's ok. I love him anyway... not everyone can be perfect.

I think that's the way to do it! My husband and I had a friend sign our marriage certificate because he's an ordained minister, thanks to The Internets. We then had a small get together at the house for everyone which worked well, but an abandonement would be extra awesome.

Congrats!

We got married by the JP on Friday the 13th with no witnesses but his secretary.
It seems to have held up a lot better than most big weddings.
That sounds like a great plan.

I thought it was ok to *have* witnesses.

It's *leaving* witnesses that was to be avoided.

On this past Friday the 13th, we went and got 13 tattoos together. It was also Feb. 13th, which was my grandmothers birthday so I got my 13 purple, which is the color for Feb in honor of my grandmother and his looks like a Frankenstein monster for his brother. I thought it would be kinda cool to get married on Friday the 13th, but he *thinks* that him and his ex got married on Friday the 13th. So yeah....

We are getting married this Monday which is the 16th which is also our anniversary date of making our relationship official. It's the day I told him he was going to be my boyfriend.
