| | | Tucked away in the woods off a major highway sits a small abandoned school, the school storage building, and the home of perhaps a former teacher at the school. Once upon a time, this school taught Kindergarten through 12th grade. In 1973, the school had 16 teachers, 4 cooks, 4 school bus drivers, and 1 custodian. The graduating class of 1973 consisted of 17 seniors.
1. The front of the school then:
And now:
Walking through the fallen hallways, stepping through the puddles of water, it wasn't hard to imagine this place filled with kids like these:
Walking these halls:
The steps where many class photos were taken:
How many hurts she helped fix:
From her place in the school:
The nurses office
On a Merry-go-Round:
That used to be here:
Half the building has already collapsed... long forgotten. Untouched by students for so many years, the building slowly lets Mother Nature take it away...
He hept the place looking great..
And left something for us to remember him by:
The house next to the school... Did a former teacher live here? A volunteer? It was obviously someone well liked by the children.
Wittings on the chalk board tells a former teacher goodbye, and lets her know that she was loved by her students and they will miss her. It also tells them of their final exam...

| | | WOW! I love how you put it together. Must have taken hours. Great research finding the old and new pics that go together. That place really has me interested. Want to know more, much more!
Well done and great pics as usual. I especially like the one of the house. Awesome, just awesome photography skills at work there.

| | | I agree. This is a very nice find and I do like the way you put that together. It's interesting to see how something was, and how it is now. Very nice!!

| | | I know this place! Have a few pics I took but there at home and I am at work. I didnt get a chance to look around much as I had people with me who didnt understand the whole UE thing. I recognised the blue walls and the little house on the right as you drove in beside the school. Really nice post you did for the site!

Thanks.. as soon as I stepped foot in this place, I totally fell in love with it. Its really hard to find history on it though, but I'm working on it. Edmond_Dantes added it to the DB. I'm going to add more info to that entry as we have it. When you get a chance, I'd love to see the pics you have of it. I love seeing different perspectives of places I've been.
When you saw it, did you know it was a school?
