The reason the Plaquemines Parish courthouse burned down probably has something to do with the state of the Pointe a la Hache fire station, pictured below. As you can see from the second and third pictures, a lot of fire stations in coastal New Orleans look like this. The interesting thing is that although they're heavily damaged, a lot of them are still in use, as this one in Michoud was. Although the
building was barely habitable (except for a fat, happy raccoon living in a clothes dryer) they were using it to shelter a tanker truck.

Wow... the sky is REALLY blue in that first picture. I like it. Its too bad to see the fire stations in that condition.
