Dinosaur farts.
J'ai toujours fait une prière à Dieu, qui est fort courte. La voici: "Mon Dieu, rendez nos ennemis bien ridicules!" Dieu m'a exaucé. |

Yeah, I still have it on auto pilot.

Get that global warming in gear and the spiders and scorpions will be talking about what a nuisance those pesky humans used to be.
I'm a blatant waste of time and resources. |

| | | I've still got my XTi on auto pilot as well. I'm actually going to a class tomorrow that is put on by Canon that teaches all of the features of the XTi. Hopefully I'll get something out of it.

| | | Auto pilot = much less potential. Go manual! I know you already know this but once you get the hang of it you will like the results. I still use auto when timing is important though. If you don't have enough time to change settings and want to get the picture at that perfect moment before the subject disappears or changes. Doesn't happen in UE photography much though.

| | | I gotta teach myself how to use it. At the moment I just use the no flash and closeup settings. I just got in to my hotel in Tokyo and it's raining so the only shots I've taken are of my room. I just tried the bidet for the first time and it's creepy! Nice room though and internet access is only 12 bucks a day which is less than I was expecting.
I'm a blatant waste of time and resources. |

| | | its no different than your old manual internally metered Canon except for the controls they're different I suspect you'll find the same issue as I in getting your big thumb on the AP button while scrolling the wheel takes some getting used to if you have big hands, my only real complaint with the Rebel but my next one will be a 30D for that very reason

| | | My best suggestion is to know what the controls do and just take lots of pictures while trying to make them look the way you want. Once you know what you can expect the equipment to do it will take less time to get what you want. ISO: the higher the number the more light is captured in a shorter period of time. Also, the higher the number the more grainy the picture. Shutter speed: Slower shutter speeds let in more light but anything less than about 1/30 sec will likely be blurry if the camera is not on a tripod. Those are the main two that I'm usually concerned with and are really basic but there are usually lots of other settings that you can mess with.
