I like the last one.... The first 2 the hdr effect is far to subtle... Unless thats what you were going for... If you are using the photmatix program go into tone mapping and mess with the light smoothing as well as the black and white levels... Hdr is beautiful esspecially in old buildings.... The colors that come out are amazing... Try using 3 or 4 photos at different exposures... I love #3 though and I would like to see what else you could come up with... Keep em coming

I agree that the first two are subtle, but the third one just looks unnatural. I have to say that's a rather bizarre photo yet I can't explain why, it's just strange.

I think thats why i like the 3rd one...one reason it looks strange is because of slight movement between shots....also the curtain was prob moving so it didnt match up in every shot....hdr is very difficult with wind as a factor..

Excuse me for asking but...what is hdr? If it has something to do with photography and cameras than that explains why I don't know, but it would be appreciated if I could find out.

Hdr is taking 3 or more pictures at different exposure levels...Then the photos are overlayed on top of each other using either photoshop cs2 or a program called photomatix...Then you mess with the levels until you get the result....The different photos make different things show up better in the photo....this isnt a very good example because there are not any colors but it makes detail you wouldnt normally notice visable....great for ue because of the brilliant colors of peeling pain ect

search for hdr photography and see more examples

ill resize another pic later and post a better example

I see, that makes sense. Thanks, that'll help when I reading through some of these threads that mention hdr.

does your camera have bracketing? Alot of the newer point and shoot cameras do... If so turn bracketing on and it will automaticly take the three photos with different exposure levels....then download photomatix pro for free...load all 3 photos and go to generate hdr....After hdr is generated go to tone mapping and mess with the levels until you get a look you like...

AH!!!

Before any of you "people" give any ANY! comments of what a real hdr image looks like. I would like to shift your eyes to MY site here http://www.flickr....plorertresspasser/

As for the photos. Hmmm deep thoughts are coming to life here.
I would say to not do any hdr here for shots such as the ones you get here. It helps when you have a good range that the hdr will succeed in. Here there was no need to do any hdr for these. But, that is still not mean these shots are nothing. I like the last one...seems to talk to me. Meh I'm going to try and shut up.
One last thing "HDR RULES!"

Cheers

Wow, those car photos look awesome!

But I must say that these my photos, I wouldn't anyhow get nearly nothing like these results with my Canon PowerShot S2 IS. There just ain't enough 'range' to exposure those by just one shot (except maybe the first photo).

In the second one, top of the stairs was very well lighted, and downstairs and stairs itself were very (I mean VERY!) dark.

And third there was that window, outside very bright (comparing inside's darkness); it would be outside or inside, but not both of 'em. Other would be overexposured (or underexposured), that's sure.

I think that hdr is nice way to create, but I don't get those 'feelings' that this working method brings up of people. Someone thinks that hdr should look so much unreal as possible, other one says that it should look as realistic as it could be; feels like it can't be anything between that.

I don't get that.

In my opinion hdr is just working method, nothing more (or nothing less). Like you take pen and draw anything on your mind, who cares how you do it, most essential thing is that you can make your own vision true, no matter if it looks real or not.

After one pint, me (so god damned philosophy).

I went to your site and looked at the photos...They are great examples of hdr...I personally like it to be less obvious...The hfr in wolfs photos were a little too subtle but I have seen others he has done and they were great...I like a balence between the 2.... Not too much... Not to little
