| | | I paid an old friend a visit this weekend and somehow had forgotten how colorful she was. Feel free to critique and tear these apart, as I would like to improve. Shot on a digital Canon Rebel XT using a tripod during one of the muggiest days in recent memory. Please excuse the solo chairs and peeling paint. I could not help myself. 1

I agree. 3 might benefit from being shot dead on instead of at a minor angle, and 7 could be cropped or came in closer to emphasize the doorway. 5 has a minor crop of the chair leg. Other than that, they look perfect.
This is just my opinion, but these shots feel too safe compositionally to really stand out. They are very nice and pleasant to look at, but are lacking somehow IMHO. I understand if you want to do it that way, and I hope what I just said doesn't offend you.

| | | I really think 7 is the strongest compositionally, a slight crop of the top to deemphasize the negative space that really doesn't lend any additional interest to the image itself perhaps. It's jam packed with leading lines, the color and texture are pleasing, and the play of light is mucho nice too. Nice job, but to me, most look a bit soft, and when there is so much texture, it's one of the rare instances I personally think sharpness is critical. my 2 cents, and that's about all it's worth too chica.....
