| | | I got "caught" for the first time last sunday by the owner of the house I was in. Once he realized I was only taking pictures, he just told me to get out of there. Unless there is a gate at the driveway, I almost always just drive down it and park by the house. Seeing as this time this local redneck in a van, and 2 others in a pick-up blocked my car, preventing me to just get away if I had too. What does everyone else do, I realize it is all relative to the location, but would u suggest parking on the road and walking down, or something else? Since no houses could see me I'm sure they noticed the car as they drove by, and clearly it was suspicious.
officer, I don't see the big deal... |

| | | Why would you EVER park in the driveway, especially if it only had one exit? I park blocks and blocks away from anywhere, usually adjacent to a park or public building. I don't mind walking, though.
Please don't be stupid. It might piss me off so much that I have a seizure or something. I hate stupid people. |

| | | Bad, bad idea. It's almost always a good idea to park away from a location.

| | | Well, is on street parking allowed? Do you explore near any kind of business or public building? Do you have to drive, or could you ride a bike, take a bus, or even get dropped off by a "getaway driver"?

Yes, very much agreed. But not too far though in case you DO need to get away, lol.

Is this a even a serious question or did you really think somebody is going to tell you parking in the driveway of a house you plan to unlawfully enter was a good idea? 1. if you answered yes, then its time to find a new hobby 2. if you answered no, then why even ask? Once again I have to wonder why we even have a rookie forum.

| | | I clearly know that it is not a good idea, but seeing as the places I explore are very very rural, no other buildings except for farms within walking distance, my options are the driveway or the road, both not very good places. In over a dozen different houses, numerous times, this has yet to be a problem. I guess next time I'll crawl up in camo-gear from the back.

Well I can say that I'm glad there is a rookie forum, obviously there has to be one. It helps prevent newbies (like myself) from doing anything dumb. Although parking in a driveway is a pretty obvious thing not to do, lol.

Well, it was a problem this time. Why were you asking opinions on it, if you're just going to defend the practice and continue doing what got you caught? Parking on the road is ALWAYS a wiser option than parking in a dead end where your vehicle can be blocked in.

Eh forget the bike, it can be spotted as well. It wouldn't be as easy to spot a car, but why the hassle? If a cop finds you all a bike is gonna do is help you get an evasion charge (or w/e ) I'd say a nice pair of walking shoes, or boots haha, is all you need. Park a few blocks away and just walk on. YEAH!
