| | | If anyone is planning on going out there, I'm more then willing to go. I've got gear, a car and I'm up for anything. I'll drop down there, how bad can it be? But back to serious, has anyone actually been down there since being sealed up that anyone knows of? I've got hand held 4 gas monitors and an air sampler with 150 feet of tubing. So, I could at least tell you what breathing conditions are like and what's present in the air. Anyways, if anyone seriously wants to go out there, shoot me a PM or something. Edit: After reading an archived 10 page post about this, which only had maybe 1 page of useful info, my questions on the water and if anyone's been down there have been answered. Still seems worth checking them out, checking if there IS water, how deep, what's in the air, etc. [last edit 5/17/2007 7:16 AM by Link338 - edited 1 times]

| | | Due to the response this thread received and sensitive nature of this particular site perhaps it would have been prudent to reveal this information on Talon UE? Don't you think?

Well maybe, but since I buggered the coordinates so badly I doubt any noobs or vandals could even find it! As for Talon UE I figured you guys already knew this stuff over there [last edit 5/17/2007 11:11 PM by Explorer Zero - edited 1 times]

| | | 2X, How did you find these vents? Satellite imagery or just driving around out there? Cool stuff. I've really gotten interested in the SSC project lately. I know people have been to the LINAC, does anyone know who the guy is that lives right there by it with the big diesel and the dog? He's quite the jerk. He said he owned the property that the LINAC sits on, not sure if I believe him or not.

| | | Yes, I have tried calling the number on the sign, but have not gotten an answer yet. You would think a Keller Williams office would have a receptionist to answer the phone, but the three times I tried last week, there was no answer.

| | | I think that some of these are ventilation shafts and some are "escape" shafts. Have you found this one???? It could have a ladder attached to it....

| | | I was out here yesterday. Most of the power is off, everywhere except the MDL building. There were several entrances to the MDL that were wide open but I didn't go in. Is it known if this building is still alarmed? There was still many lights on inside. All the buildings except the MDL had wide open doors, most looked like someone went after them with a crowbar. Still not a lot of vandalism though, besides the gutted door handles everywhere. I caught some pics, though not many came out very good, I'll post them when I get more.

| | | I'm suprised all the... stuff that's still inside, considering all the doors standing wide open. I closed and locked the obvious entrances, might piss some people off, but maybe it will keep the scrappers off for a little while. The building looks far from abandoned from the road, but with wide open doors, they might think otherwise. There's still plenty of places to enter for the "honest" type. Also, of interest, I found a box of court records with a ton of indictments all around it. Many of them from the early 1900s. Nice to see a county that keeps it's records in check. Not to mention all the computers have hard drives in them. The place also reeks of Urine as well, people should really use the restroom, it was meant for that business. Good Day!

I don't think he was being sarcastic. I think its cool that you did that.. I'd probably do the same thing. I hate scrappers and people who steal from cool places.

Definitely not! I've gone so far as to carry my Dewalt out to screw the plywood back on to windows left on the ground by dimwitted local "explorers". We are the caretakers and abandoned buildings are our charge.
