Finding a location is random and cool, but as a history buff, the best part for me is uncovering the story behind a place.

Once I explored this smallish building in downtown Toronto which appeared to have been some sort of custom food processing facility at one time. It was in the midst of renovation, but there were remnants of a nicely tiled lobby on the main floor, gaping holes where a freight elevator may once have been, and what was left of the old walk-in refrigeration in the basement.

Unfortunately, no matter how much research I tried to conduct online, I could never find any information about the building, and it's now been converted into low income housing. One of these days if I get back to Toronto, I'd like to search the archives just to find out what the hell it was.

For me, discovery and research really go hand in hand.
