| | | This is entirely up to the individual. Some people prefer to retain their privacy, others don't care. When posting photos of other people, it's respectful to get their say on the matter beforehand.
WTF indeed. |

| | | Word to all points Nightbird made. If it's someone else in the photo- check with them. If it's yourself- it's up to you. I have no real problem showing my face in a photo, but I tend to cover my tattoos if it's an urbex situation, but that's just me. I find faces to be less of a straight up giveaway as opposed to things like license plates and more readily distinguishable features like tattoos, but ultimately if someone wants to find who you are badly enough, it prbably won't be through recognizing a face in a photo. WHOIS searches on websites provide far more usable information as does IP tracking. Just don't go posting your phone number and address and you should be ok. Unless you're going somewhere that really is stealth super class 65 ninja type stuff- then you probably shouldn't show any faces. Or, as always, paste a puppy over any incriminating piece of the photo.
Get down, girl, go 'head, get down. |

| | | according to the DB rules its not just up to the individual you need the subjects permission
Disallowed Content Any photographs depicting pornography are not allowed in the LDB. Please ensure, if you are uploading photos containing unobscured faces, that you have the permission of the person(s) in those photographs.

| | | Thanks to all who replied, the reason I asked really was because my friend who I went exploring with recently is always trying to be in all my shots, and he laughed at me when I suggested that I would be editing the pics to censor our faces. Up until recently a fair percentage of UE photos I've looked at the people had blurred out their faces. Personally, I'm not afraid to show my face, but since i'm new to the forums I was just wondering if it was pretty standard or not around here. Either way I know I definitely have my buddy's permission, as when I mentioned it he said "Why the hell would anyone do that?" he seems fairly intent on gaining some sort of ue cred.

| | | Anything you post on the internet can be used as evidence during prosecution. If you get nabbed for something, and the DA checks out your Myspace, they may very well use the nice pic of you next to a broken window or somesuch against you. It's becoming pretty standard for LEOs and prosecutors to go looking for Myspace and Facebook accounts.
Please don't be stupid. It might piss me off so much that I have a seizure or something. I hate stupid people. |

| | | myspace yes, but facebook i don't think so, you have to be registered and you have to have added the person as your friend for them to be able to view your profile.

| | | ...or be in the same network, if the person isn't smart about privacy settings. Also, if you check the Facebook TOS, you'll see that they can release ANYTHING you put up for ANY reason, with or without a warrant.
