What equipment are you using? Number 8 and some parts of 6 are very photo secession like. I also like that you don't over-saturate your photos like so many people do. Excellent color on all of them. And excellent job with the processing; it's not overdone.

Nice set, but I don't know about the last one. I Like number 6 a lot.
Number 1 and 2 are nice. There missing a bit of colour though. Other then that there alright.

If you can't beat them, shoot them!

thanks sir (and speed). i usually go a bit too far with my editing, or so at least in my opinion so it's nice to hear a 3rd party opinion that disproves that. i use a d70, the last shot was taken with a pinhole lens i made for it.

The only one that might be over-edited is 6, but I think it works well. I like it. It's a nice cooler tone, which I enjoy. And my eye keeps moving around the picture. I love looking at it (and I have to look at a lot of photographs each day).

I like the last one. I made a pinhole for my d50 and I really like the results that I get, though I noticed a lot of black flecks on the picture. You must have a lot of dust on your sensor. I see the same thing when I use my pinhole and it makes me cringe. haha

the Leipzig City Advertiser 1839
The wish to capture evanescent reflections is not only impossible...but the mere desire alone, the will to do so, is blasphemy. God created man in His own image, and no man- made machine may fix the image of God. Is it possible that God should have abandoned His eternal principles, and allowed a Frenchman.. to give to the world an invention of the Devil?"

is it weird that all of these pictures make me think of the song -'boys of summer'?

lol you must have it stuck in your head, its such a catchy tune

6 is interesting, but the rest just look like typical artfag snapshots.

Just so you know, a typical artfag snapshot contains any TWO of the following elements:

- unnecessary blurriness
- excessively cool/warm colour balance
- "the mundane"
- a blatant disregard for compostion
- 10% architecture, 90% sky
- garbage
- x-processing

That is what this site is about not pictures about grass, I'm sorry i don't want to sound rude but go post somewhere else if this is what you are going to post. Otherwise i would be happy to look at some pics that you take of some abandoned building in the world. Everyone has seen grass and a dock.

That isn’t just a chill down your spine, yes be paranoid.

I don't really know what you mean by "your stature" but ok I'll give you this: a lot of the stuff on your photoblog is considerably better than what you've posted here. I understand that you were probably going for certain moods, but this particular set just doesn't do much for me. Ok, so maybe "artfag" wasn't the best term to use, but it's a term I use to describe some of my own stuff, so think nothing of it. Other than that, I really don't know what to say. I'm just not a fan of stuff that puts certain "arty" aesthetics ahead of interesting subject matter and composition.

honestly i like these alot. if a few the composition is not all there 100%

but i think you found alot of views and angles and ways of approaching these shots that alot of people wouldn't have. nice job.

Thanks, and thanks for the honesty. This is the type of response I was looking for in the first place. I understand they fit that mold of typical indie/artsy photography but the immediate jump to the stereotype kinda caught me off guard. Cheers to you sir.

Cool stuff here, the shallow depth of field really works out in these.
