Semi-Abandoned Barn

This is an old barn near my school. I went there this week with a friend and found some pretty sketchy stuff. The whole left side of the second floor had caved in, but we entered from a window on the right side. We found a room with a bunch of dirty gas cans. You could tell that it was a really old place, but it had power outlets and light sockets and a meter out front. I didn't want to check to see if it still worked though... Some of the floor boards were very unstable. I wish I could have seen the rest of it. Here are some pictures I took of it last weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera when I finally went inside.

don't worry about him.
good job.
now start researching on google to find more. use words like "building closed maryland" and you will find tons of little stuff. maybe add the word historic in there too. it takes time either googling for hours or driving for hours to find stuff.
so maybe you can also take a cruise. there used to be lots of stuff in ellicott city up by that little winding river that went near the boutique areas.
and there is some stuff in baltimore.

be careful and good luck kid.

Thanks. I love old ellicott city, and I am pretty sure you are right. If only I had my own car...

that barn reminds me a lot of my uncle's farm. some of the machinery in the photos look pretty old, it would be interesting to date them. good start and be safe!

It would lose half the membership!

On a serious note in nyc I met a 16 year old explorer who is smarter, more hardcore, more cautious and more trustworthy than other older explorers I've spent time with. He's banned from here of course, otherwise I figure he'd comment for himself. There are potential legal implications of perceived 'influencing a minor' but just because someone is young doesn't mean they can't explore well and contribute positively to uer...

Ha. You posted this? This is the old "Snow bank Barn" as I used to call it. Evey winter my granddaddy took me here to jump from the second floor into large snow piles that he had made. The property is his, still in his name. Although, he did die. Actually, sorry if I freak you out or anything, but he actually died at that flooded well. He came to the barn one late night, and noticed somthing moving over by the barn so he got out thinking it was theives and one of his dogs had gotten out of the barn, and ran towards him at the well. Knocked him out, and he drowned. Sad story, even to this day. Kinda sad to see this photo album...but thanks.

Yes well, there weren't any better ones. So, about this barn: you have actually been there? Your story sounds fishy, no offence. Can you tell me where it is just so that I can trust you?

I decided to do some investigating, and I heard from someone that it used to be a cattle farm. There is a house across the street from it, apparently the guy that lives there owns it. I will see what more I can find out, though.
