I havent been to the Queen Mary for a really really long time. Last i went was when my dads ex fiancée worked for Disney when i was about 10. I think all you gotta do is show your California ID at the ticket office and youre in.

Its not like it was when i went there. My dads fiancée would pick me up from school and take me back to work with her and make me sit there till around midnight when she got off and we went home. I did some exploring of the entire ship. People who worked there got to know who i was and never hassled me for going places i shouldnt be. After hearing all the ghost stories, i sort of stopped roaming around by myself

I got to see the boiler room, kitchens, closed state rooms, the entire front of the ship below waterline, everywhere my feet would take me actually. The Spruce Goose was still in the dome too.

I was there a few months ago, and took pics of the outside part at night. I should finish my website and get them up.

Went to see the QM about two years back. I tried to cross a few velvet ropes, but encountered mostly locked doors. A large amount of the ship has been gutted for the convention center, crew areas, convention center, storage, etc.

I did meander into the hotel section of the ship around check-out time and gawk at some of the state rooms. The ghosts and legends tour (though corny as hell) gives you a pretty good look at the swimming pool, as well as several staterooms and hallways in the upper bow.

Though I couldn't wander off like I had hoped, I still really enjoyed it. The craftsmanship is stunning, even after the wear of elements, wars, and throngs of tourists. Certainly worth a trip if you're nearby.

Last time I was there, I was 10 and the Spruce Goose was still there. I'd still definitely like to see it again though. Here's to hoping it isn't too lame.

So why in the world would a visit aboard the Queen Mary be free for California residents??

No mention of that on her web page: http://www.queenmary.com/

But anyway, I was there for lunch with someone back in 1991 or so, & saw the Spruce Goose too. I'd love to get back sometime soon & penetrate the Queen as well as visit the former Soviet Sub that's there now.

Oh my gosh, there's a Soviet Sub here too? I live in the city that the Queen Mary is in so if there really is a Soviet Sub I'd love to visit it. where can I find more information about it?
