| | | So I'm cruising CNN as I'm apt to do. I see this headline "copper thieves killed by wire they were stealing!" It has since changed to "Men fatally zapped by wire they were stealing" I can't link to it because it's a video with no separate URL. go to CNN.com main page, the stories just to the right of the big picture, 9th story down. It's about time. The news should make this a big story to try to discourage as many as possible.

| | | I'm rather happy myself also. I had a contract last year at a Nuke plant and some of the stories I heard about the balls some of these guys (thieves) had made me laugh. I figured it would be only a matter of time. The one story that sticks out in my mind in particular is that one night a sub-station either blew or shorted out, something of the sort. A trouble crew was sent out to investigate. After arriving the crew found smoldering boots melted to the ground. They never did find out who the person was or if they even made alive (maybe a friend took the bod to the hospital). The guy/s tried to cut into a huge voltage line while it was live. I've been hearing some pretty nasty stories here in Illinois from the railroaders. I pretty much get to talk to about all the com/signal guys around what ever state I am in so I usually prod them for stories and such. Seems the thieves have been hitting them pretty good too. From what I understand from talking with some of the RR "Special Agents", they usually wind up catching a majority of the retards. At the scrap yards none the less. You would think the morons would learn.

| | | For destroying the infrastructure of industry and civilization, and being an ignorant, selfish, lazy, self-centered thief, he got exactly what he deserved. I'd pay to watch someone try to steal a live 12 KV or larger bus bar without powering it down. Call it a character flaw...or maybe just a wicked sense of humor. CRACK!- HUMMMMMMMM, click....HMMMMMMM, click....HMMMMMM, click. oh my... "They had made a cut into a wire that they thought was a ground wire, but it turned out to be live," Tyngsborough police officer Richard Burrows said. They were electrocuted with approximately 13,000 volts of electricity. National Grid workers shut the power off so that emergency crews could pull the men away from the sub-station. They spotted freshly-cut copper wire. Some of it had been piled next to the victims' pickup truck. http://cms.firehou...tionId=46&id=54063

Yep.... procreation is just animal instinct.... no brain cells required. I think it takes alot more intelligence to NOT have kids. And as for the copper thieves getting fried.... my only thought is a good ol' Nelson's "Ha-HA!".

Are you fucking serious Blackhawk??? I don't admire thieves, in fact I hate them. however, destroying the unsustainable machine of industry that is built overconsumption is fine with me. Rage against the machine. incidently...this happens a few times a year around vancouver as well. [last edit 3/31/2007 4:06 AM by SteamPunk - edited 3 times]
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too! |

'Insulted' tools? Did you mean insulated? Or are those tools just really sensitive? J/K..... we all know how tough most tools are.... they really are hard to insult. Unless you talk about their mommas.......

| | | Survival of the fittest applies here...usually Darwin's laws are defeated by welfare and WIC and all that stuff. I saw this on TV when it happened, I don't get what the hell they were thinking because while they were outside an empty warehouse that wasn't really all that abandoned as far as UE goes, they went up to a fenced in electrical substation and cut 13,000 volt wires or whatever it was. What were they thinking? These guys weren't any stupid kids either, one was in like his late 50s I think. I know it's sad but you just don't mess with electricity when you aren't sure of something in general. Tards. I also thought it looked slightly funny in a dark and morbid way, from the news copter vantage point I saw, the way the guys landed, people standing around, etc...Looks like they got blown a good distance from where they got zapped. All I could think was "Wanh-Wahhhhhh", or the sound it makes on the Price is Right when you lose a pricing game.
